Act 1, Scene 1: "Through the Undergrowth" (Main Game Thread)

"Noct, that could be a crude map on your trinket. Check it out?" says Linar as he passes the thoughtful clanking person.

Hearing the summons, Linar follows and after reaching Garroth has a look and listen before sneaking {MS} 10' or so north, following the W wall to peek round the E corner of the 'storeroom'.
If nothing untoward, he continues sneaking N to peer round the W corner.
If still nothing interesting or untoward the elf goes back to Garroth, shrugs, and then sneaks along the W corridor hugging the S wall to listen 5' from the end and then peer round the corner to the N.

"Hands.. Why hands?" She ponders for a moment, wondering the same time where the rest of the bones are. "We go west." She announces sheaving her blade once more. "Dran leave." she comments sternly, warning the Wolf to leave the bones alone.

Heading west along the passage she keeps her bow drawn.

"Maybe the hands were punishments?" Nocturno will muse.

"You probably right." She replies. "We move width Bull Man." Moving west as noted above.

Garroth directs the Drow to the storage area, continuing slowly on down the tight passage. He reaches another chamber, this one with several different alcoves and crevices. The area is scattered with bits of cloth or hide and grubby looking sleeping-pallets tucked into the northeast corner. A powerful odor of refuse assails his sensitive nostrils from the southwest and northwest.

Linar moves to the storage area and listens intently for a minute. He explores slightly deeper and makes sure there are no creatures hiding amongst the crates. Finally he returns to the hall, satisfied the other area is unoccupied. He joins Garroth at the end and begins to listen carefully, but hears nothing aside from his ally's breathing.

Nocturno puzzles over the bones, but nothing he can recall has any specific connection to hands...

Dran sniffs at the bones, but ultimately leaves them be. Katten moves up, bow ready; Nocturno and the others not far behind.

Linar continues to cover Garroth's advance, skirting close to the LH wall and keep to 'the shadows' or whatever cover is available..

Garroth moves 10' west, casts a glance around and then proceeds 20' north west Goead the source of the stench.

[Nocturno]

Nocturno follow at the 30' distance, waiting to be summoned to smash some goblins.

Van pokes around the alcove of crates and barrels... Maybe find something for his nik-knack shelf. Or perhaps a nice throw rug for the mudroom.

Anything catch the prospecting elf's eye? Anything look good enough to be considered a house warming gift?

Garroth advances towards the source of the stench which becomes quite a bit more pungent as he nears it; causing him to have to snort and clear his nostrils several times as it stings his sinuses and eyes. The narrow crevice leds to a chamber with a fissure in the floor. Apparently it is being used as a privy.

Linar follows, sticking to the wall and covering the minotaur. Katten, dran and Nocturno follow up as the Elven Illusionist and human fighter head to the storage area. What did you find? I still can't see. Elden says.

The crates contain mostly digging tools and food. There are some ropes and torches, extra hides and bedding, and spare weapons of poor quality.

The food is a mix of scavengings from the forest and things obviously taken from humans such as dried rations and meat, wine, and ale. Sol notes a crest on one of the crates [Heraldry]. It seems most of the items once belonged to the human settlement of Borderton...

Linar silently approaches the gap in the cavern wall and peers through.
He repeats this with the next gap too.

OOC: I meant to be blazing my staff for the human. Light at least half strength.

"Hey, these are from Borderton! Maybe some of it can be salvaged... Hey, you want a dagger? I know you're a fighter, maybe have something onhand to throw? In any case, let's catch up to the others."

Heading out to catch up, Van will dim the staff to candle brightness.

Turning away is disgust, Garroth moves up the northern passageway.. 20' north then 20' north east.

Bow still drawn she motions to Noctorno and moves to the passage heading north.

[Nocturno]

Nocturno moves keeping his distance from the most advanced scout.

He will look to the south to see if Linar spots anything, or look for anything of interest on that southern wall.
