Mira Rhelarwen (Jenara)- Private Thread

The door opens easily, not being quite closed. Pyros takes a tense minute to light a torch, but illumination soon fills the dirty hall. Mira can finally see what the kender spotted before:

The door to the cell where Jaconos' body was dumped (next cell down on right) lies shattered. The two portculli between the last cell with the secret passage and where Yasir was staying in the hall are mangled like tin wire, welds and rivets popped and torn like wax; leaving an opening a large man could easily pass through... a small pool of dark liquid covers the floor near the torn portculli. Jaconos' body is undisturbed in the cell... odd that it would be so after something tried so hard to get inside... No sign of Yasir or any other creature, human or humanoid remains... the portcullis beyond where Yasir had been penned in remains unmolested...

[Nocturno]

"Hullo!?!" Pyros will yell. It will probably sound louder than even he intended.

[Jenara]

Sword in front of her Mira steps into the hallway, resisting the urge to run she forces herself to walk calmly, holding Elsa close as she comes up behind the Kender, enveloping him with her form.

"Yasir?" She calls softly, did he? Had he...? Fighting the tears she moves forward, almost like she did in the dream, her heart heavy. Surely fate wasn't that cruel.. surely..

The Kender's voice echoes oddly down the hall, bounsing down the corners and ringing off the iron bars with an eerie harmonic. Mira moves up cautiously, covering the Kender to protect him... or keep him from bolting deeper. Splatters of sticky blood puddle at the rent iron bars, whatever had peeled the hard metal away had not done so without sacrifice.

The shattered door to Jaconos' cell lies in flinders, pounded into oblivion by a force far greater than even the warrior couls match... greater than the creature Jaconos coyls even have done. The body of Jaconos lay exactly as Yasir had left it two nights ago... deeper into the scene they creep, finding a rough pallet the bard recognizes seeing from her visit the day before... nothing else remains... Maybe... the cleric has to pause to work up saliva, Maybe he got out.. something else could have come in... and... and he escaped when it made a hole... we should see if his gear is gone from where the guards keep it... She examines the pooled blood without touching it directly, Someone.. someone could survive that... even without magic... she says dubiously. And we don't know it's his.. right? She looks at the others, concern in her eyes as she gives the bard's arm a comforting squeeze.

[Jenara]

Mira stands deathly still, her face drained of all blood as she stares at the Cot.. "He was just there, I just saw him yesterday, how... how can he be gone? How in the Abyss can he be GONE!" Her voice raises in volume as she stares at the scene once again.

"We need Artanis, he can find out what happened, he can trace where he went..." Wobbling she nearly collapses into Elsa's arms, "What am I supposed to do? I said I'd go after him... but if I don't know where he went how can I do that!?" Throwing her arms into the air she sheaves her blade and tries to stay upright.

Elsa holds her steady, stroking the side of her face with one hand, but keeping the mace in the other. We'll find him... we will. Let's get out of this hall... the halfling tries to lead the bard back to the kitchen. We need to find his gear. That way we can give it back once we find him, ok?

[Jenara]

"Give it back... He knows we were going to Skald, if...if he was infected he'd run away, dammit i think he always ran away. Now he's left me to deal with this and... Damn him." Rising up she glares at the cot, anger in her eyes, yet again she'd been let down, the song held true once more, only this time it wasn't anyone's fault.

"Lets find his things, and we have to tell someone..." stepping back she pulled them away from the blood, looking for any footprints that might lead the guard to them, the time to be angry was later, right now... Shaking away the haze she follows Elsa, grabbing Pyros too, "We have to leave, the guards will blame us.."

Elsa comforts the bard as best she can while remaining alert, Blame us? But we didn't do anything, how could they think we would even be capable of this... Mira begins looking for footprints, and finds large, smeared, bloody tracks going both into and out of the secret door.. but also out of the broken kitchen door towards the woodshed... His things are probably outside the cells... he didn't have much aside from the sword, did he? Not even... not even armor,,, her voice wavers a bit at the last.

[Nocturno]

"This doesn't look good, but maybe Yasir went to chase this thing down." Pyros will have a grin of hope on his face.

[Jenara]

"No we didn't." Mira responds distractedly, "All of his things are in his room, he wouldn't have left it, unless he had good reason." Scanning the area with her eyes she tries to keep herself calm, keep herself level. "Yasir hunted those things, that was his talent. If he went after it then he must have had reason." Trying to rationalise the situation in her mind moves to check for his equipment.

What was she supposed to do now? What had she said to Artanis? ...Accept and move on with my life. If you don't experience anything, you might as well be dead Could she do that? What if he was gone? What if the Mists that brought them here had taken him back to the place he came from?

[Nocturno]

"Well if we are going to track something down we should probably get our Ranger friend."

[Jenara]

"He could read what happened here, we ... we should get him.." She gives a lost look and grabs the Kender. "Can you get him? Please? Tell him I .. we.. need his help."

"Elsa we should wait here incase anyone comes."

[Nocturno]

Pyros will nod and tear off like a rabbit being chased by a fox.

Pyros bolts out of the kitchen like a shot from a bow. As soon as he is gone, Elsa begins to search around the kitchen. In the corner she finds a something. A dirty spare shirt and a belt pouch... This was his shirt! He must have changed, but... I don't see his sword anywhere...

[Jenara]

"Then he took it." Taking a moment she considers the scene, "Let's assume the monster isn't him, so something came through the kitchen, attacked the guards.. Yasir was attacked or he heard it. Tore the portcullis open, hurt himself.. oh he was hurt. So he changed and took his blade.. maybe being sober made him think, or I don't know. But I think he went after it." She tries to think, to relax. "Or I could be wrong, I'm no tracker."
