Idrys quickly glances around the tent for a good exit that can be found or made. Is there good cover south and west?

[Ooc: does he remember anything from the layout of tents around? Is there a direction they can cut through the tent and slip away in? Not cutting the tent yet!]

Spider sneers at Karlene, 'three hundred!? You are quite the greedy little girl. Considering I bestowed you the elvish blood vials, invaluable information, a means and a plan to break your master forger out of prison. This coin is not for you or I, but will go into the Watchers coffers. I will give you and Idrys a hundred to split between yourselves'

Idrys saw no cover per se, some scattered crates and barrels was all.(vs.INT:succeeded) If need be he could easily splice open the tent if he wished it.

From outside, the sounds of horse hooves and a voice called out 'hootin and hollarin!' and you could see two mounted bandits were tormenting a fat townswoman, and a third threw a young girl to the ground and leveled a dagger playfully poising it in front of her face, with his other hand he was forcing her head toward his crotch and had an evil smile on his face.

"Running short on our payment again you stupid townfolk are in for it this time!" one of the men outside says.

While the brigands outside are engrossed in harassing the brigands, Idrys notices a bloodhawk perched up above on a wooden support pole, looking at all with keen interest.

Karlene's dire wolf cub starts making little whining sounds as if bored or wants to play.You both notice it increased in size as it too advanced by a year, and is now the size of a large dog, as is Idrys own.

Bane: 'If my eyes do not deceive that is the innkeepers wife they are torturing' the ranger makes a gesture toward the two when the bloodhawk flew like a javelin out the front flaps of the tent, toward the pair of dirty bandits.

Spider unsheathed a pair of daggers, or shortswords? In his shorter stature they could be construed as short swords 'try not to get too heavily vested in this fight if you can help it, let the blood ravens take em on we can pick off any we come across'

Sybil begins chanting the arcane syllables to a spell and a strange sensation briefly washes over you, a peculiar delirium as you aged a year. Yet your movement and speed noticeably increases and the brigands seemed to be moving as if in slow motion now.

SPELL IN EFFECT: haste

Karlane looks at Idrys and then at her wolf cub and then to Sybil, "Can you keep the two cubs safe, please, Sybil? I think Idrys and I are owed some hide. Theirs." She indicates the aggressors.
She looks sideways again at Idrys, questioningly, prepared to back down and 'be a good girl' if he so chooses. But she does need more experience of actual combat, rather than the practice, practice, practice, from her previous sometimes brutal tutors. As an aside she adds, having mulled some stuff over, "Spider, are there seven Watchers? Core ones I mean, not 'associates'."

Sybil said 'give them to my bodyguard, Bane he will care for them'

Spider: "No, there are six, no more no less. Zar, Alleazar, Kronis, Magnus, Prince Brightflame, and Gellor"

New: while standing about two brigands cut a tear into the tent and enter, both look to eachother then back to you with stupid grins 'well well well! Looks like its time for some fun and laughs!'

Sybil outstretched a hand and unleashes a tongue of scorching fire that consumed both men 'fun indeed!' she says angrily.

If the two who have cut their way in are dead from the fire, Idrys unlimbers his Longbow and begins tagging as many brigands as a hasted dhampir can.

Karlane gently takes the second cub from Idrys and hands them both to Bane with a whispered, "Thank you!"
If the two interlopers aren't already dead from the flame, Karlane will finish off to the nearest one.

She then looks for somewhere shadowy to hide ready to either backstab any coming towards her brother or to stealthily advance and wallop from behind*.
If she gets into trouble, then she'll Command: "Sleep"

======
OOC: *trying for x2dam if unseen; and PHB cites backstab can be done with a club, so mace should be fine too. (I know her chances are poor, but no practise means she can't improve.)

ROUND 1: The first two bandits are charred husks.

Karlene becomes one with the shadows, as Idrys prepared his bow two sets of brigands from the west and east entered the tent.

The pair at the west entrance were taken totally unaware as Spider sprung out of the shadows of some crates and backstabbed bandit #1 with both of his dagger-swords, viciously yet with controlled cruelty. The second he headbutts in the gut making him keel over, and the halfling backstabbed the brigand without mercy.

Idrys (9) looses an arrow at bandit #1 coming in from the east side, who laughed mockingly 'hah! you missed fool!' he takes a bead at the assassin with a fully loaded crossbow when Karlene came at him, slamming a mace heavily on his head and bashing the doomed mans skull inward (critical:20 89%) a second one directly behind came and dove straight into Karlene bringing her down on the ground. Her dire wolf broke away from Bane and came charging at the man, biting into his forearm with sharp teeth and twisting with fury.

Bandit: "Im gonna gut you like a pig you sorry ass creature!" he grabbed a crossbow and fires it into the direwolf plugging it with a minor puncture to its hindside

Karlane stands up.
{OOC1: Spike - Please see queries for clarification in the OOC thread, so hopefully this is her 2nd action in round 1. I will edit this up after the OOC thread clarifications. Thx.}

{OOC2: Edit 25/10; 20:40, Looks like I don't need to edit this up, you've moved it along already. Will wait for Idrys and then post for round 2. I will check at least once a day, probably 4 or 5 in truth.}[/i]

Karlene gets up quickly to her feet.

Idrys looses two arrows, the first thudded into the beam support post of the tent (2), the second grazed the left ear of a brigand (21, 58% critical) removing said ear and nailing it to a barrel directly behind the scrubby bandit, who was howling in impotent rage (-5 hp dmg)

ROUND 2

The bandit that Karlene's dire wolf tore up quickly gets up and is on his feet.

5 more bandits enter from the west flap, all armed with shortbows and rusted shortswords.Each man filthy, unshaven, and having jagged yellow teeth.

Sybil places a spider on her tongue, swallowing it she chants 'nikom noldor sangreth' she causes a large web to ensnare all five of the reinforcements. One actually dies as spider webbing floods his mouth and ears suffocating him to death.

If he can do it without risking hitting Karlene, Idrys continues to fire at the brigand that knocked her down. If he cannot so without risking hitting her, he drops the bow, draws swords and runs up to kill the brigand.

Karlane says in Ancient common, "Shoot 'Ear-less' boy. Mustn't run for help."
She tries to hit the brigand nearest to her with her signature weapon, her mace, and repeats the attack with later (hasted) attacks if he's still up.

When no imminently threatening foes remain Karlane will try her healing skills on the damaged cub, christening it (him?) "Fury" at the same time.

======
{OOC: Mace is RoF 3/2, so presumably She gets three attacks in round 2 ?}

TWACK! (18/18) Karlene bludgeons the nearest bandit with a hard blow, following up with a second successful furious blow that kills him (-7 hp blunt damage). Her third swing missed her intended target, who ducked the blow of her weapon.

Idrys plugs the earless bandit with two arrows, ending his life (17, -12 hp damage)

Spider busies himself hurling daggers at two outlaws at the opposite entrance to the tent.

Sybil outstretches two cupped hands chanting the arcane words of power effects a burning hands spell that incinerates the webbed bandits, also causing part of the tent to catch fire.

Bane dispatched the last bandit with a thrust of his longsword and dirk, wiping his blades on the fallen mans own cloak.

Spider: nice work you two, I see you both fight well side by side. The black cloaks are coming, I suggest you go break your forger out of prison while the black cloaks busy themselves cleaning up the rest of the bandits in town. Go and seek Hedge if you are willing, though be weary there are forces opposed to your continued good health and fortune."
