Re: CH. 17: Poison Curse
Jocelyn, Ouragana, Baeros, Gallath and Drav (Alley behind Temple of Renos/Sardonx 15th, 11 PM)
"Right now," Sable replies. "We just finished shore leave and we're departing at first daylight. You're lucky you arrived when you did, if you had come here a day later, you would have missed us."
Val and Naras (Ixitxachitl Lair/Sardonx 12th, 1 PM)
Fishing out the bladder from her pack, Val places the lip of it in her mouth and squeezes. The liquid goes instantly into her mouth and down her throat, without ever touching the ever surrounding saltwater. Within seconds, she feels a sudden burst of power. It's almost like years of practice and training and experience have suddenly been downloaded into her brain, making her into a master warrior.
Shin starts chanting a new spell, but his opponent is faster and bites into his neck, disrupting the spell. Shin goes limp in the water and the ixitxachitl turns its gaze to Naras.
Naras, meanwhile, defeats the ixitxachitl fighting Serenna. Serenna manages to kill the other one. Meanwhile, Cye continues to fight off his two opponents while the two priests continue to pray over the altar.

Re: CH. 17: Poison Curse
Naras says in common, "Val, please kill out that one," and indicates the sole foe to the east #5, adding in the Undine language, "I will help Shin. Can you help Cye?"
If Ixitxachitl 5 comes at Naras before Val has time to react and engage it, the dwarf will set her spear to receive the foe's charge, one handed spear grip and buckler deployed if time allows.
However, if Val manage to engage the eastern foe first, then Naras will run wide just wide enough of that foe to avoid its flailing attacks (of opportunity) and then try to stabilise Shin.

Re: CH. 17: Poison Curse
"Ourgana, how long would it take you to get that invisible spell ready?" Jocelyn asks.
Re: CH. 17: Poison Curse
Val looks around and does decide to take on #5, attacking with her trident.
Re: CH. 17: Poison Curse
"The problem is that I didn't need any of the spells I had prepared, and so I would have to use one of them, rest, and then prepare the invisibility spell" Ouragana explains.
[OOC: The PHB doesn not say expressly how much rest is needed to regain the ability ot learn a spell. Jaded, could you please specify and answer for Ouragana?]

Re: CH. 17: Poison Curse
Jocelyn, Ouragana, Baeros, Gallath and Drav (Alley behind Temple of Renos/Sardonx 15th, 11 PM)
"How about this then?" asks Sable. "First, you give yourself up to Scourge."
"We already ruled that out," Naishe points out.
"No, hear me out. Jocelyn surrenders herself to Scourge, agreeing to become his slave. This will have several effects. First, he'll lower his guard. He'll believe he's won and won't be so paranoid anymore. This will make getting the evidence easier, as well as starting up the mutiny once we have it. Second, it will give Jocelyn full access to his quarters--that is where he'll keep her, after all."
"Why his quarters and not the brig?" asks Brock. "And what if he just kills her?"
"He won't, at least not right away," Sable answers. "Not until he gets tired of her, which will happen long after we've found the evidence and turned the crew against him, in which it will be too late. As for why his cabin, well, he's always had a fascination with Jocelyn." She turns her gaze to the cleric. "That is why she became the captain's woman in the first place, to avoid his advances. No, he'll want to keep his new prize very close."
Sable continues, "I can hire the rest of you as new crew. Scourge doesn't know any of you, so as far as he'll know, you're just new recruits. Once Jocelyn has the evidence, she can pass it on to me and I'll distribute it to the crew. The mage here can then sneak into his cabin--you'll need someone who can pick a lock--then turn Jocelyn invisible. She can remain hidden until after the coup is over. Once Scourge is deposed, I'll become the new captain and will officially let you all go. Everyone gets what they want...well, except Scourge, anyway."
(OOC: Breila, there's no specific rule so it's up to the DM. I rule at least 6 hours of rest.)
Val and Naras (Ixitxachitl Lair/Sardonx 12th, 1 PM)
As the two shamans continue to pray, the altar starts to give a sinister glow. It seems whatever ritual they are performing is nearly complete.
The wounded ixitxachitl starts to swim toward Naras. It doesn't look like Val will intercept it in time, so Naras drops to her knee and sets her spear for a charge. However, just because the dwarf is unable to move in three dimensions under the water doesn't mean nothing else can. The creature easily swims over her and bites her neck, easily bypassing her shield. The dwarf once again goes limp as her consciousness fades. Val manages to skewer the ixitxachitl a second later, ending its life.
Meanwhile, Serenna moves to aid her other brother. She kills one of the creatures attacking the druid, and Cye does in the other. Now only the two shaman remain.

Re: CH. 17: Poison Curse
Jocelyn looks uncomfortable upon hearing this plan, but she lets out a sigh. Ultimately, she knows that it is up to her if she goes along with this plan or not. "Even Scourge gets what he wants," she says softly. "But, it gives me access to his cabin, so I'll agree to it."
Re: CH. 17: Poison Curse
Val does not hesitate, she moves toward the shaman and releases her final net at #2
Re: CH. 17: Poison Curse
Ouragana puts a hand on Jocelyn's shoulder in a slightly awkward gesture of encouragement. "We'll be close to you" she says softly. Louder, she adds: "Who can pick a lock? I can't and I don't know a spell that opens locks either."
(OOC: Would it make sense then, now that she has some more spell slots, to keep a slot empty when she studies in the morning so she can fill it with a spell she needs later in the day?)

"Then it's settled," Sable says. She gestures for one of the gnolls to come forward. It pulls out some shackles from its pack and hands them to her. "I'm afraid you'll need to wear these."
(OOC: Breila, that is possible to do. Keep in mind, though, that it takes 10 minutes per spell level to memorize a spell. So 10 minutes for a 1st level spell, 20 minutes for a 2nd level spell and so on. You'll need to keep that limitation in mind when doing this.)
Val and Naras (Ixitxachitl Lair/Sardonx 12th, 1 PM)
Serenna says something to Cye, but Val doesn't understand it. She then heads to Shin and starts binding his wounds. Cye then moves toward one of the shamans and attacks it with his javelin. The creature retaliates, biting the druid.
Val focuses on the other shaman, firing her last net of snaring. With her heightened senses, she finds it easy to aim properly. As a result, the shaman is ensnared in the net just as it finishes its spell.

Serenna moves to aid Shin and binds his wounds, stabilizing him.
Cye swims to meet Ixitxachitl 01 and stabs with his javelin [TN 12] (1d20): 13, hit for (1d6): 2 damage.
Ixitxachitl 02 casts Aid upon itself, gaining +1 to hit and saves and acquiring (1d8): 4 extra HP.
Val fires a net of snaring at Ixitxachitl 02 with the trident of hunting (+2 hit) while super heroic (+4 hit) [TN 9] (1d20+6): 11+6 = 17, hit. Ixitxachitl 02 is ensnared.
Ixitxachitl 01 bites at Cye [TN 12] (1d20): 17, hit for (3d4): 1,2,1 = 4 damage. Cye is now moderately wounded.

Re: CH. 17: Poison Curse
Matter-of-factly, Ouragana turns to Sable: "Will you introduce me as a Storm Sorcerer or do I need to get different clothes and be a simple crew member? Though I am afraid I'm not very strong, I would make a terrible sailor."
