"I think you might be the only one that is tempted to do that, Baeros," Jocelyn says with a small grin.

Baeros carefully approaches the well, the long grass crunching beneath his boots. When he reaches it, he can see it's made of stone and has ivy growing all over it. There may have once been a wooden device to lower a pail into it, but the wood and rope rotted away centuries ago, so only the stone well remains. Peeking down, he sees nothing but darkness. But he does feel a slight breeze of air coming up from the bottom.

He then moves to the front door. They are steel and have runes carved into them, but not in any language that he can understand. They may be decorative. Unlike the chain and lock at the gate, there is no rust here at all. The doors are practically pristine. There is a keyhole beneath the door handle, and sure enough, giving the door a push reveals it is locked or barred in some way. It does not open.

Baeros blushes and smiles shyly at that comment. "Well... ahh... never mind then."

Standing at the door he says to the others, "The fact the structure has not given the signs of time is strange. It might be protected by magic or built from an incredibly good material. Do you think it is safe to try and break the door? Or pick the lock?" He asks the wizards and Granite. "If not, there might be a passage under the well. I felt a breeze while looking at it, so there should be another opening to it. But before we decide, let's see if we can enter from one of the windows in the back wall."

(OOC: Is it possible to see if one specific thing has magic to it by using a cantrip? Just look at the front door and see if there is some magic aura left, for example)

Ouragana looks at Bearos with incredulity. "What do you mean, the structure has not given the signs of time? This place is crumbling!"

"Windows are all boarded up," Brock points out. "How you going to get in through them without bashing them down?"

(OOC: As stated in the cantrip writeup: "Lesser divinations can be performed, such as...divining the presence of magic in a 30' radius (but not type, direction, or strength)..."

So you can have her stand by the door and use a divination cantrip, and keep everyone in the party who has a magic item at least 30 feet away from her. And the cantrip will tell you if there is any magic within 30 feet of her, but it won't tell her if it is coming from the door or above her or below her or behind her, etc. Just that there is magic somewhere within 30 feet of her.)

"You are crumbling!" Baeros tells Ouragana, "I meant the door and it's lock!"
"The main door would probably better guarded than the back windows. Let's go around first." Baeros claims.

"Okay," Jocelyn says. "Why don't a couple of you scout out the back to see if there is another way in."

Gallath and Baeros head back to the entrance of the courtyard, so they can circle around the mansion to check the back again. Once they are back there, they find it exactly as it was when they scouted it yesterday. There are no back entrances. There are five windows on the first floor and five more on the second, but they are all boarded up, like all of the windows are.

Meanwhile, back up at the entrance, Brock looks to Drav. "You said something about hellhounds living here?" he asks. "Know how many?"

At the same time, Thaddeus looks over the lock on the door, careful not to touch it. "Interesting. I don't think this lock was part of the original design. And look at these symbols on the door. They aren't Eonian. Something else...I've never seen them before."

"So, then it is possible that other people were here before us? Jocelyn asks as she looks over the lock without touching it. Though, she doubts she'll be able to figure out the design.

hmmm Baeros says. do u think we can climb to the first floor and break one window open? Or maybe burn it. I guess it is better breaking the window than the main door.

"I have no idea how many hellhounds there are. You wouldn't focus on numbers when they breathe fire at you, would you?" Drav says to Brock, "If we want a way in, I could try and hook some boards on a window and pull them off with the grapple."

"Oh, let me have a look" Ouragana says eagerly, comung up to Thaddeus, almost brushing against him. Has she ever seen something similar?
