CH. 12: Wyvern's Island

Ouragana calls out: "Thaddeus, if you have spells to fight the trolls, give me that wand since I don't have any!" She extends her hand and readies herself to get the wand if he consents.

Gallath prepares an arrow with oil. "Granite, need a light?" he calls, pulling out his flint and steel. He lights Granite's if he agrees, and his own.

Dhan takes aim. " Go for it." He says preparing to fire as soon as the bolt is lit and the shot is clear.

Thaddeus looks at Ouragana with distress. "You're out of spells already?" He holds the wand protectively against his chest. "But...this is a gift from my mother!" With a deep sigh of reluctance, he hands it over. "Very well...but do please be careful with it."

The three trolls decide to ignore the itching feeling that they are overcome with, but this causes them to dance around in an almost humorous manner. The largest one heads right for Val, slashing at her viciously with both claws,then biting into her shoulder with its razor sharp teeth. In less than a minute, the half-orc has gone from being fine to barely on her last legs. With a roar, Val pulls out her trident and stabs the troll in the thigh in revenge.

Jocelyn reaches into her bag for a stone, but finds she only has one left. Placing it into her sling, she spins it overhead and lets it loose at the lead troll. The stone just barely misses the creature's head, brushing some of its oily, black hair aside, but nothing more.

Brock stands where he is, banging his axe against his shield. "Come here, uglies! I'm waiting for you!" The remaining two trolls heed his command, rushing at the dwarf. The lead troll strikes with its claws, which Brock stops with his shield. But it manages to sink its teeth through his chain mail, causing him to cry out in agony. The other troll slashes and bites at Brock, managing to claw across his face. Brock swings his axe, empowered by Octhanus, at the lead troll. He slashes it across the stomach, doing serious harm.

Baeros calls out for Hopper to seek safety, but again the pup doesn't seem to understand. The ranger draws his blades and moves in to aid Brock. He slashes at the lead troll, cutting deeply into its right arm. He stabs with his smaller blade, but misses when the creature sidesteps him.

Gallath strikes the flint against the steel, lighting the leather loop on Granite's bolt. Taking careful aim, Granite aims the large weapon at the biggest troll, the one fighting Val. He pulls the trigger, and the flaming bolt strikes true, hitting the creature in the upper chest. It shrieks in panic at the burning of the bolt, trying to grasp and pull it out, but without burning its hands at the same time.

Baeros, aware of Val's distress sends Takit for her aid. "Takit, attack it from behind and then retreat!" he gestures at the troll attacking Val. He then tries a killing blow at the leading troll in order to finish it and go to help Val.

The largest of the trolls is burned a little more by the burning bolt still in its chest. Ignoring it for now, it slashes at Val with its claws, eager to feast upon her flesh. The half-orc evades the talons, even managing to strike the right arm with such force that there's an audible snap. The arm hangs limply at the troll's side and it shrieks in pain. Eyes burning in rage, it leaps at Val and sinks its teeth into her neck. She drops to the ground like a rag doll, bleeding profusely. Although more than tempted to stop fighting there and start eating the half-orc, the troll is taken back when a magic missile hits it and then Takit comes at it, biting it. It starts to back away, casting glances over its shoulder.

Brock swings at the lead troll, bleeding from his wounds. The troll sidesteps the attack with ease. The Troll counterattacks, and Brock takes another nasty slash across the chest by its talons. Although on his last legs, he refuses to back down. He actually grins, as if welcoming death. He manages to fend off the attacks of the other troll, which is struck by one of Gallath's arrows. When Jocelyn comes up behind him, she touches his backside briefly and one of his claw wounds heals completely. "Save your healing for those who need it, Pastor!" he calls back. He then slashes at the other troll, wounding it seriously.

Thaddeus moves forward, coming up next to Hopper, who is 'helping' by yipping at the trolls adorably. The Storm Sorcerer begins to chant in the arcane language of magic, and an orb of flame, about 3 feet in diameter, springs up into existence behind the two trolls fighting Brock. The intense heat radiating from the orb burns the backsides of the trolls.

Baeros continues to aid Brock, slashing and stabbing at the lead troll. Overwhelmed by its wounds, it falls to the ground, twitches a bit, then stops moving altogether.

Granite reloads his heavy crossbow, an arduous task that takes an entire minute to accomplish.

Horizon, you didn't specify if you were casting Cure Light Wounds or Cure Moderate Wounds? I'm going to assume it was the former. Please specify which spell you are casting in the future.
