Ah, I see.

In other news, I went ahead and went through everyone's inventory, recalculated their encumbrance (no changes, though) and removed Areilon's and Andar's stat blocks and added Brock's.

When the party reaches Narin, you'll have the opportunity to do some shopping. I'm sure you'll all want some backpack space for the goodies hiding on that secret island.

Well, what does she do with it, specifically? Thaddeus has had a year to study it, so unless you have something specific in mind, I'm not sure what else she might discover that he hasn't.

Well, then mostly she will ask him what he has found and see if she can confirm it with her knowledge. She wants to know the artifact well, too. Think of the day as passed in a discussion among specialist about their favourite subject.

Alright. In that case, Thaddeus has already shared most of what he has learned. He also learned the wizard who owned the island was called 'The Wyvern' and he was something of an isolationist.

Okay, I think that about wraps up chapter 11. I'll calculate XP and such over the weekend, and will put up the new chapter on Monday. Until then, I'd like everyone to send me a list of what your character would like to do in Narin. Please specify if you want to roleplay out each thing on your list or not.

For stuff that doesn't need to be played out, like shopping, we can take care of that now. If you don't remember Narin or if you weren't in the party yet when the party was last here, you can read up on it here.

When chapter 12 starts, we'll take care of whatever needs to be done in Narin, then head for Wyvern's Island.

Ouragana's main goal is to find magical means of protection, for example a scroll with an Armor spell. A weapon like the staff Brock gave her would be very useful, too. If she needs more money than she has in cash, she'll sell pearls off her necklace, if there are platinum pieces in excess, she'll buy more pearls.
She will learn Detect Magic in the morning to be able to check the items somewhat.
She also renews her offer to assist anyone else who wants to buy magic items.
It's up to you if you want to play anything of this out.
Oh yes, and she will give Bearos his waterskin back to get out of encumbrance.

Baeros, curious about the world and specifically nature, would like to see the keep, the lighthouse, the waterfalls and the sea. If someone, from the group or some lady he meets in town, would join him it can be role-played, otherwise I'd like to get some info for later role played discussions.

Regarding equipment and Ouragana suggestion I'm not sure I've enough money but if Baeros can have +1 sword or +1 armor that would be great. (Armor is preferred but I believe that costs more?)
And Baeros ditched his shield long ago, it still appears in his inventory. I think someone lost a shield and Baeros gave his own instead.

BTW is Hopper getting bigger?

Narin is a pretty small town, with only about 1,000 people. So it doesn't have a mageware shop. The most powerful people in town are 5th level, so nobody here can produce magical items. According to my notes, the most powerful mage in town is 4th level; they are the adviser to the lord mayor. I can roll them up and see if they have any magical items to trade or sell, if you want.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, though. If it wasn't clear, the Wyvern Island quest is meant to help compensate for the party's lack of magical items. It's an abandoned wizard's lab, and that cannon of light isn't the only magical item they'll find there.

BishGada, if I understand you right, Baeros just wants to sight-see then?

Oh, yeah. He offered his shield to Jocelyn, but she already had one so he just ditched it in the jungle. I had forgotten that.

Hopper hasn't changed in size, but keep in mind that Baeros only adopted him less than a week ago in-game time.

OK, yes, Baeros will just sight-see.

Regarding the time past, I lost tack of it in the sea voyage on the Sylanda. :)

You said with a lady? Like...any lady? Can you narrow down the parameters on that any, in terms of age, race and so forth?

Anyway, I got the XP up. Val leveled, so Nuke needs to roll 1d10+1 for the new HP total.

One thing I forgot: Ouragna will try to find someone who can tell her about the Aracokra, if the arrangement they reached more than a year ago (that the bird people will take only wildlife, no livestock) still holds. Too bad there isn't enough time to go and seek them out.

If there are no magic items available for trade, Ouragna will buy morepearls and an ornate clasp with precious stones for her necklace for her platinum pieces to get out of encumbrance.

Val will want to sell her trade goods.

She will look for other armor options.

3 large sacks.

and any potions that might be available.

level 5 HP (1d10+1=6)

Depending on how much gold she ends up with, she will want to convert to gems to ease the weight.

Okay, I did some rolls and it turns out, there are no magical items available in Narin.

There are two merchants in town who would be willing to buy Val's trade goods. The first one, a male has a reaction score of 7 while the other, a woman, has a reaction score of 12. Val gets a -3 reaction toward men, so the male's reaction score drops to 11. Long story short, their initial offers for the whole stock is 470 GP for the male and 430 GP for the female.

There is a leatherworker in town, if you are looking for new armor. Let me know, specifically, what Val is looking for.

She can buy large sacks at 2 silver a pop.
