WotL OOC Thread

This 2E Dragonlance game is set in the city of Haven, during the War of the Lance. Haven is a city undergoing great upheaval. First massive numbers of refugees pour in, then the city is conquered by a draconic army. Can our heroes survive under this dark occupation?

Anyone think there is more to be gotten out of the slig in the pit?

I was also thinking Gregeddin would suggest burning the slig in the pit with some furniture and a torch, but i think that seems a little dark for a neutral person!

It's unlikely that he has much more useful information. If we leave him there he will eventually get out, but it might take him longer then we'll be in the mine in the first place. Furthermore, Bear doesn't want sligs in his mine when we're done, so probably best to kill him.

We could search the sligs for loot, but it's likely they won't have more then coin purses on them, and getting loot out of the pit would be a trick, even if we kill the slig. We could stop by and search the room they came from, that seems to me to be more likely to contain useful loot then what sleeping sligs would bring to battle.

In terms of what to do to the slig, since Haahqae hates sligs enough to get +1 to hit against them, he won't care much no matter what you do to it.

For the sake of brevity (I'm trying to wrap this quest up before anyone else quits on me :| ), I'll go ahead and state that there's really nothing else the slig knows.

As for what you guys do with him, that's up to you. It's unlikely he'll get out of that pit on his own, though.

Darga's okay with killing him. He did try to kill the party, and Bear's not likely to want him alive. He will insist, however, on killing him in a manner other than pouring oil on him and setting him on fire.

With regard to Haahqae's crit - please correct me if i'm wrong - I think an additional dice is rolled rather than multiplying by 2.
At least looking at Kendra's most recent crits, she rolled 2d8 .
Jaded knows for sure :)

That's correct. A critical means you roll the damage dice twice. However, modifiers are not multiplied. So if normally you do 1d8+2 damage, then on a critical, you deal 2d8+2 damage.

Welcome to the game, Rivers.

Before we get started, I had a few questions for you.

First, how did you discover Planet AD&D? I'm always trying to bring in new people, so I'm often curious how new people found their way here.

Second, how familiar would you say you are in the Dragonlance setting? I ask so I know how much background info you might need.

Third--any idea what sort of character you'd like to play?

Hi Rivers,

Over here I'm posing as the class clown as best I can, but sometimes I just make a fool of myself.
Best of luck and have fun.

I found padnd a few years ago. I had posted as Rivers on the old message boards. I go through spurts of having time to play dnd, but when I have time and am coming up with something to nplay or run, I visit here.
Dragonlance, I would say more than fairly familiar.
As for what character I would like to play, I have a few questions first.
I am guessing no clerics yet? Also, how to you plan on doing the tests if I decide to play a mage? Are you running things fairly canon with the racial hatred and such?
