CH. 7: Voyage of the Bullring

"Wait. How we ended up on this ship, or how we ended up on the island?" Jocelyn asks. "Because I'm pretty sure I don't know how the rest of you ended up on the island. I just know how I ended up on the island."

[JadedDM]

Val starts to feel the heady effects of the wine after she downs her second glass.

"Either/or," Terra says in response to Jocelyn. "Tell us anything, so long as it's entertaining," she adds, lifting her glass.

Val makes a CON check with a -3 penalty [12] (1d20): 16, fail. Val is now slightly intoxicated (tipsy). She suffers a -1 to INT and WIS.

[Breila]

"Well, each of us ended up on the island by her own. But we went to three adventures on or near it together. Though I think that the last one, which got us exiled, is most worth telling" Ouragana says. "And I agree with Areilon, you're our best storyteller, Jocelyn."

[Jenara]

"Then the story of Frisno would be best. Perhaps leaving out the part where the clockmaker thought I would sleep with him would be best." Arei says with a wink.

[HorizonsDream]

"Uh, okay," Jocelyn says, looking between the two women in confusion. She shrugs and looks to Terra and Sierra. "Well, we ended up on this ship because of a murderer," she explains. "We were researching the murders, but we weren't having much luck until those three were attacked in their room by metal spiders. They had sword like legs, diamond shaped eyes, and just about as terrifying as real spiders. We followed there tracks after we were able to fight them off, and they lead to the clockmaker's home. Naturally, we broke in, which was against the law, and found that Frisno, the clockmaker, was the one making the spiders and that he was collecting women's hearts because all of those women were always interested in his best friend instead of him. He figured he was ignored by these women all the time because he was a nice guy."

[Breila]

Ouragana makes a move as if about to say something, but decides to stay silent in the end. She had not been too good at telling a story right...

[Jenara]

"And.." Arei grins, "He was quite mad, the poor clockmaker had no idea, but he saw himself as a gift to women everywhere, when he left them alone, Frisno tried to help them, and was ignored." She adds to the story.

"He couldn't handle you two. But hey, he is dead." She giggles downing her glass.

"The worst incident was the island... I still don't know if we made the right choice..." She shudders.

When Areilon mentions the island, Ouragana winces a little before she can stop herself.

Terra looks between Areilon and Jocelyn. "I'm confused. If the clockmaker's name was Frisno, what did he 'have no idea' about? Were there two men named Frisno?"

[HorizonsDream]

Jocelyn lets out an annoyed sigh. "Don't mind her. I guess all gnomes look alike to her," Jocelyn says. "Frisno was the murderer and clockmaker. Hubert, his best friend, was the jeweler, who thought himself quite the ladies man," she explains.

[Jenara]

(Typo..... Oh well)

"Yeah, sorry, blame everything that happened. And this rather nice wine."

[JadedDM]

"Yeah, sorry, blame everything that happened. And this rather nice wine."

"Ummm...blame what on who?" Sierra asks, trying and failing to parse what the elf just said. She shakes her head. "Maybe you have had too much wine as it is." She slaps the elf on the back in jest.

"In any case," Terra interrupts, "this Frisno guy sounds awful. I've run into his kind before. Well, maybe not the murdering type, but still. There was this one guy who followed me around, a few years back. Kept saying he loved me, although I don't think he ever even knew my last name. Treated me like a helpless damsel all of the time, even though I could take him in a fight easy."

Sierra chuckles. "Oh, yeah. I remember that guy. Wasn't he the one who kept trying to talk you into giving up adventure and sailing to be his little house frau?"

Terra laughs and shakes her head. "Yeah, that was the one. He kept insisting he respected me--respected all women--but also constantly talked down to me and wanted me to give up my whole life just to serve him. Psh, men!"

"So what's this talk about islands?" Sierra asks, changing gears. "Was it a 'buried treasure' island, because those are my personal favorites."

[Jenara]

"Yes he was." Arei says blushing and placing her glass on the table. "Perhaps I have had too much."

"I have met men just like that, they cry out for a powerful woman and then complain when they take charge."

"The Island... We signed up to help protect the Kohen, he was on a trip to an island to collect infomation on the natives, they were viscous and evil, but still human." She looks to Oura and squeezes her arm, "It was a bad time for all of us, quite a harrowing experience."

[Breila]

Surprised and uncomfortable, Ouragana pulls back from Areilon's squeeze and massages her arm. "I'd rather not talk about that" she mumbles, loolking embarassed.

Sierra shrugs. "Fair enough then. Perhaps instead we can talk of things yet to pass. What are you all planning to do now?"
