Using the palisades to hide them, the party sneaks as close as they can. Ouragana's spell causes quite a disruption. The tribesmen jump back in surprise and grab their weapons, unsure what is happening but ready and alert to defend themselves.

Dalaim nods to the others, indicating the time to attack is now. He hefts his hammer.

Ouragana casts Dancing Lights as a distraction. This causes the enemy to suffer a -2 penalty to their surprise roll.

Enemy Surprise (1d10-2): 6, enemy is not surprised

(Although the enemy is not surprised, the party still gets an ambush round. I need actions from everyone for the ambush round, except Ouragana who just went.)

Ouragana watches the battle play out from her vantage point. Jocelyn remains where she is, waiting for an opportunity. Grey does likewise, on the other side of the clearing. Areilon remains behind cover, cursing her inability to aid more directly.

The dwarves and half-orc spring their attack, however. Val steps out from behind the palisade and fires at a burly male, catching him in the thigh. He cries out something in their strange, indecipherable language and turns to meet his attack, readying a large stone spear.

Oren, meanwhile, steps out from behind the other palisade and fires a bolt into the side of one of the two female tribals. She stagger in pain, nearly falling over at the impact of the bolt into her flesh.

Dalaim then moves in, stepping between the two palisades, and swinging at one of the male tribals. But his glasses become skewed during the rush, and he misses his target entirely as a result.

Jocelyn does nothing.
Val moves five feet and fires a sheaf arrow with her long bow while blessed by Gonto (+1) at the male (+1) Tribal 03 (1d20+2): 21, hit for (1d8): 6 damage.
Areilon does nothing.
Grey does nothing.
Oren moves five feet and fires a bolt with his light crossbow while blessed by Gonto (+1) at Tribal 02 (1d20+1): 19, hit for (1d6): 1 damage.
Dalaim moves south 20 feet and swings his warhammer while blessed by Gonto (+1) at Tribal 01 (1d20+1): 4, miss.
Val fires a sheaf arrow with her long bow while blessed by Gonto (+1) at the male (+1) Tribal 03 (1d20+2): 16, hit for (1d8): 6 damage.

(Just a heads up, but the bonus from the Bless spell only affects attack rolls, not damage rolls. Actions and Initiative for Round 1?)

Jocelyn continues to do nothing, though she seems to twitch a little as the battle takes place as if she is itching to join in herself.

(OOC: Oh, I forgot to describe the second arrow's attack. No, it didn't finish off the enemy. He's still kicking.

And Invisible Castle seems to be up for me.)

Ouragana surveys the area, watching the battle a little but concentrating mostly on the edges of the clearing, to spot any other tribal that might be coming back to camp. She also tries to make out if anyone comes down the path, because they would threaten Areilon and Jocelyn.
There's more to me than meets the eye...

Arei keeps her sword drawn and motions to Joyceln, pointing to the left hand side, moving slowly, her intention to move around the side clear.

Both Jocelyn and Grey stand and watch, twitching slightly as they try and control their battle lust. Meanwhile, Ouragana surveys the battle from above, and keeps an eye out for anyone else approaching. So far, she sees nobody coming.

Oren drops his crossbow and pulls out his axe and shield, before moving to attack the female he shot earlier. However, he trips on a half-buried root and fumbles his axe to the ground with a curse.

Surprised that her opponent is still standing, especially considering how easy the previous ones went down, Val quickly nocks another arrow and fires. It's only a glancing blow, cutting the tribesman's cheek and possibly infuriating him further. At the same time, Dalaim slams his hammer into his opponent's chest. The man staggers and spats out a bit of blood, but continues to stay in the fight.

Despite her injuries, Areilon begins to limp around to her left, sabre at the ready. One of the female tribals (the only one not being attacked yet) begins chanting in a mystical tongue, her voice reverberating with power. There is a small flash of light, and her skin begins to creak and harden, transforming into wood. Up above, Ouragana recognizes the druidic spell of Barkskin, a spell that will help protect the woman from physical attacks.

The remaining tribals begin their counterattacks. The woman fighting Oren thrusts at the now unarmed dwarf with her stone spear, but he manages to use his shield to protect himself.

The particularly resiliant man that Val has been shooting shouts a battle cry and moves toward the half-orc, stabbing with his spear. She only just barely sidesteps, feeling the whoosh of air as the spear buzzes by her ear.

The other male tribal stabs at Dalaim, catching him in the shoulder. His armor prevents it from going too deep, but it is still a bad wound. The old cleric merely grits his teeth and bites back the cry of pain.

Finally, Val fires another arrow at close range, grazing his flank. But remarkably, the tribal keeps coming.

The burning man of Ouragana's spell fades away. Few in the battle notice.

Areilon limps thirty feet to the south, toward the left side of the camp.
Tribal 04 casts a spell on herself. Her skin becomes thick and brown, like the bark of a tree.
----Ouragana makes a spellcraft check (1d20): 5, pass. She recognizes it as a Barkskin spell.
----Grey makes a spellcraft check (1d20): 20, fail. Does not recognize the spell.
Tribal 02 attacks Oren, who is wearing studded leather armor (-1) with her two-handed stone spear (1d20-1): 12, miss.
Tribal 03 moves 15 feet northwest and attacks Val, who is wearing hide armor (+2) with his two-handed stone spear(+1) (1d20+3): 10, bare miss.
Tribal 01 attacks Dalaim, who is wearing leather armor (+2), with his two-handed stone spear (1d20+2): 20, hit for (1d6): 5 damage.
Val fires a sheaf arrow with her long bow while blessed by Gonto (+1) at the male (+1) Tribal 03 (1d20+2): 14, hit for (1d8): 3 damage.
Ouragana's Dancing Lights spell ends.

Val drops her bow and reaches to her belt. Unleashing the battle axe, she speaks in common. "Come on big boy, let's finish this." She backs up, slightly to her right, putting her opponent between the corner on the tent and the edge of the palisade.

Waiting a bit for an opportune moment she swings.

lol, it was supposed to be dramatic.

Jocelyn watches Areilon limp towards the other side of the camp. "She's an idiot," she says to herself. She glances up to the sky for a moment. "I know the teachings, but can't we just let the stupid people die?"
