Re: The Sarcophagus Legion VI
"Probably" Babushka smiles. "But he is my henchman, I pay for his room and board, and so I can expect him to do me that favor" she says, amused.
Babushka returns to her and Locky's room. "Imani says that women are not allowed to go shopping alone in these lands. So, Ulster, I'm afraid you'll have to come along and be our chaperone and bodyguard." she tells the two remaining members of her group.

Re: The Sarcophagus Legion VI
Imani closes the door and goes back to her own thoughts.
Re: The Sarcophagus Legion VI
"Oh, boy. Shopping," Ulster says without enthusiasm. "I'll go grab my gear then." He gets up to go put on his armor and equip his weapons and pack.
Re: The Sarcophagus Legion VI
Babushka puts on her armor. The two daggers are safely hidden in her boots as always, but she leaves the knife and the second dagger, as well as the bow and quiver. One piece of equipment she will have to buy is a belt pouch, she has to empty her backpack just to be able to carry some coin... She takes the fungus staff and wears it like a bracelet once more. At home, she could stow things in her pockets, but the desert robes don't have pockets.
(OOC: in the character stats, all daggers and the knife are listed as being on her belt, but the longtooth dagger and the fine dagger are in special booth sheaths)

Re: The Sarcophagus Legion VI
Jerrard swallows quickly in the dim light, "I assume they were caught doing what Kender do? Hence the injury?" He tries to look business like, tapping his coin purse. "May I ask how you came across them?" He looks closer, assuming they too are dressed in not very much, his thoughts go to Locky, the idea of the happy go lucky Kender treated like this fills him with dread.
Re: The Sarcophagus Legion VI
"Shopping!" Locky shouts with glee, all but jumping on Babuskha, "This willl be fun." All thoughts of the trapped Kender gone for a while.
" Kid never learned to clear a room. Doors and corners, I told him. Doors and corners."

Re: The Sarcophagus Legion VI
The kender are both fully grown and completely dressed, although in ragged and simple clothing.
"From my understanding, they were caught stealing and so had their hands chopped off and sold into slavery," the woman says. "Naturally, nobody wanted them. Even if you could tolerate a kender slave, what good are they without hands? So my husband got a very good deal on them. Personally, I don't think they've paid for themselves yet, but he's convinced they will eventually."

Re: The Sarcophagus Legion VI
"And a good deal would be? Say if my friend liked them so much he might want to take them off your hands?" He asks cautiously, "And could I umm.. try them both at once, to see if my friend would like them?" He tries to hide his shaking hands, "Four Silver wasn't it?"
Re: The Sarcophagus Legion VI
The woman looks at Jerrard strangely. The odd way he was quivering over talk of kender disturbs her, but who was she to judge? "You wish to purchase them? You'd have to speak with my husband on that. He got them for a hundred steel together. A great deal for two slaves at once. Although, for kender with no hands, I think he paid too much, to be honest."
She had actually offered an hour with a kender at 1 silver, but she isn't going to correct the mage now. "Yes, four silver. I can have them moved to a nice room for an hour for you."

Re: The Sarcophagus Legion VI
(Oh good his distaste is coming over as that he is a massive pervert!)
"Certainly, that would indeed be useful." handing the woman the money he steps back. "I may wish to discuss this more with you husband on my friends behalf."

Re: The Sarcophagus Legion VI
The woman accepts the money, then claps her hands and calls out in Khurish. The two guards posted outside step in. She relays some instructions to them, and the guards approach the kender, working to unlock their chains.
"This way," the woman says. "I will take you to the room where you can await their arrival. As for my husband, he is away on business, but should be returning soon. Perhaps tomorrow."

Re: The Sarcophagus Legion VI
"Thank you." Jerrard says following her closely.

Locky leaves the bedroom and heads off down to the bar when Ulster re-appears, she drags Babuskha along.

Jerrard
The woman escorts him to a bedroom. "I will return when your hour is up," she says, and then steps out, leaving the wizard on his own. It's a nice room, the kind you might see in a well-off inn. It's clean and the linen is fresh. There's a window to let sunlight in, but it's high enough so that passersby cannot look in and watch.
After a couple of minutes, the guards arrive with the subdued kender--both of them. "You want chained to bed?" asks one, his Common not very good.
==========
Babushka and Locky
The two girls, along with Ulster, step out into the harsh sunlight. The village isn't very large, but the girls remember spotting what looked to be a marketplace down by the docks when they were leaving the brothel earlier.

Re: The Sarcophagus Legion VI
As they walk over to the marketplace, Babushka approaches Ulster and cautions him: "We should watch Locky's hands closely, the last thing we can use now is getting her accused of theft."
There's more to me than meets the eye...
Re: The Sarcophagus Legion VI
Ulster frowns. "Better make sure she keeps her hood up then. If anyone recognizes her as a kender, they might accuse her of theft anyway, just to play it safe."
