I can't help thinking of Mark Twain's heaven here. In one of his short stories, Twain makes fun of the notion that when you go to heaven, you can see all the heroes of the bible (Noah, Abraham, Moses, the prophets etc.) He imagines all the queuing this would mean if everybody of the deceased wants to see them and speak with them...

Here, of course, we don't have masses. But I'm sure that the candidates and their friends are enough people to make it difficult for the grandmaster to see each group individually. Likewise, the medic's won't give everybody access to the injured, who probably has a concussion and needs rest (surprising enough that he remembers what happened to him). But well, this is a fantasy world.

I am assuming that as the Grandmaster is supporting Erastin, he would be more likely to talk to him, but perhaps we should split up? Less people at one time, and we'd get things done quicker.

Now that the scene has passed, I can address this properly. :3

I agree, actually, that just because a character is a PC, doesn't make him necessarily that important in the grand scheme of things, even if he is a driving force in the campaign itself. That's part of why I decided the High Knights, including the Grandmaster, would be too busy with meet with the party. The other reason is, there was really no reason for the party to speak with him anyway. The Grandmaster does not need a play-by-play of the party's progress, nor a detailed report every time they find some little clue that may or may not be relevant. The Grandmaster is not conducting this investigation, after all. He is leaving that to the candidates (for now, anyway). You can be sure the other candidates are not demanding to see him because they found some footprints or a glowing gem, or what have you.

Furthermore, he has no special information that cannot be obtained from any other knight in the tower.

As for Robert, though, with the concussion, remember that in a world of magical healing, injuries such as that are not considered as severe as they would be in the real world. That's the wonder of living in a world with divine powers all over the place, I suppose. After all, Erastin got stabbed with a poison dagger a couple of days ago, and now he's completely fine. :D

Anyway, a bit off-topic, but I hope you guys are enjoying this so far. This module is pretty combat-light, focusing more on solving the mystery, investigating, etc. That makes it very different than the modules I've run so far (Pod-Caverns, Sarcophagus Legion, Dragons of Despair). Hopefully you're not having too difficult a time with it. The four suspects that Delson mentioned featured very prominently in the "Diversions" sidequest in chapter two. Since you all skipped that, you now have no idea who any of those suspects are. Ah, well. I guess that makes things more interesting then.

There's something that strikes me as odd:

don't the knights of Solamnia have coats of arms? They were invented to tell people apart who all wore the same kind of armor into battle...

As far as I know, they do. The module makes no mention of them, but it makes sense, and I could have sworn I've seen it referenced in other Dragonlance sources.

So the most obvious trait to tell them apart, and the most important information about any of the knights would be their coat of arms!

(and of course, it makes life easy for ursurpers to pretend they are someone else)

Right, and as it so happens, Erastin has the Heraldry proficiency. This automatically lets him identify the various coat-of-arms from his homeland, Solamnia.

So he should know what the coat of arms of the four knights are, and if any one contains an eagle...

None of them do. Although Virtainus' does involve a Kingfisher.

Guys, please make sure to name your targets in battle. That's why I number the enemy, to make it easier for you to specify which one you are attacking. Otherwise, I'm forced to take a guess.

Yep, no orcs, drow, psionics, halflings or lycanthropes. Just among the many quirks of the world.

Hehehehehehe...

Oh, while we're waiting for Luna, I wanted to remind Breila that because Karathos specializes in the battle axe, that means he gets an extra attack with Bonebiter this round (when dual wielding the axes, his attack rate is 5/2, twice the first round, three times the second).

I've always allowed this, yes. Now that I look it up in the books, I can't find any reference that states you can or cannot specifically. But I don't see why not, so long as both targets are adjacent to each other. Naturally, the player must specify when attacking two separate targets.
