Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh (This is the Game Thread)

Desolate and abandoned, the evil alchemist’s mansion stands alone on the cliff, looking out towards the sea. Mysterious lights and ghostly hauntings have kept away the people of Saltmarsh, despite rumours of a fabulous forgotten treasure. What is its sinister secret?

AD&D 2nd Edition.
PHB and Complete Books are Acceptable.
Mages Can use the Spell compendium.

4d6, drop lowest arrange to taste.
One +1 Weapon/Armor, 1 Misc Item.

Daily posts are preferred, if you are gone for over a week with no explanation your PC will be NPC'ed :)

Amon's torch illuminates room, revealing a skeleton with a rusty blade drawn charging for the group. Behind there are 5 more forms, yet these appear to be almost sleeping, arms move slowly as if they have been undisturbed for some time.

"Indeed, more of them, perhaps these are the souls I felt?" Brax comments as she reaches for her mace, "Do we send them off to find peace or leave them alone?"

(There is only enough room for two people to attack the skeletons at once, I assume Gunter and ?)

Please post actions and we will handle the combat when I return.

Out of spells and with just a dagger, Kim stays in the background, keeping eyes and ears open for people or things coming from elsewhere.
There's more to me than meets the eye...

Vee follows Gunter, her staff in front of her like a lance to impale the skeletons like on a gyros spit.

(Ok no invis castle, my shall use the KoM Roller then)

Searos draws his sword, screaming like a little girl, making no attempt to attack anyone, he moves out of the way as Gunter charges past, axe in hand,

Kim stays back, watching the rest of the room, making no offensive gesture.

Brax draws her mace, standing by the entrance, she prepares to enter, stepping aside as Gunther charges in, his axe flying quickly into the lead Skelton, the blade striking the ribcage of the creature, yet fails to knock it down. (damage is halved).

Vee charges is after Gunter, her staff striking the creature around the head, it falls back, yet doesn’t fall.

Brax steps in behind, her mace swinging at the lead skeleton as it moves back, the weapon falling ever so slightly wide.

(I mean’t two could attack in the doorway… Still waiting on actions from Echo and Amon.)

The skeleton engaged by Gunter swings the longsword it wields straight at the Ranger, bypassing his armor it strikes him causing a huge gash along his left leg.

Two more undead stride forwards, apparently awoken at last, one wields a short handled axe, the other a long curved blade.

The first strides towards Vee, swinging the axe slowly, it bounces off the shining breastplate with
some force, knocking the creature backwards.

The last drives the blade directly at Brax, the curved blade finding a gap in her chain, impaling her hard, her face goes even paler than before if possible, a trickle of blood appearing from her mouth.

Skeleton 1: 1d20=18 Hits AC 1
Damage: 1d8=5 Does 5 damage

Skeleton 2: 1d20=14 Hits AC 5 (misses)

Skeleton 3: 1d20=18 Hits AC 1
Damage: 1d8=9 Does 9 Damage

(Brax System Shock Roll: 1d100=57 Passed! Took half of her hp in damage!)

Actions?

Having expected Brax to simply turn the rabble, he is surprised when instead she just gets herself stabbed. Stepping into the room about five feet, he commands Dogmeat to attack before falling into the rhythmic chanting of a spell.

Gunter winces and tries to ignore the pain in his leg, channeling it into his axe.

"Damn for a skinny bugger you swing hard."

He presses his attack.

(Assuming Searos is still acting like a little Girl….)

Brax groans once more in pain, parrying an attack with her mace she reaches for her the symbol of the sun round her neck with her free hand. "Back foul creatures, let the light of Pelor send you back to the afterlife!" A bright light appears from her symbol causing 3 of the corpses to move back suddenly, trying to flee the light.

Gunter swings at the lead skeleton, the corpse moving away from the light suddenly. Realising it is fleeing he swings the axe blade breaking a few of the creatures ribs as it continues its retreat.

Vee Closes in once more with her staff, scoring a firm hit (Skel 2) yet barely damaging it.

Skeletons 1, 3 and 5 move away as fast as they can from Brax.

Skeleton 2 swings the axe once more at Vee, almost dropping the weapon as it spins around in a circle.

Skeleton 4 approaches the group, swinging a massive double headed axe at Gunter, the blade biting his arm hard, making a huge tear in his sleeve.

Amon charges the second skeleton, shooting a stream of magical energy at the corpse,, dog meat close behind, the dog tries to bite hard into its leg. It is slowed, yet doesn’t fall.

Gunter: 1d20+1=14, 1d8+3=4 Hit AC 5, for 4 damage.

Vee hits AC 1, for 1 damage

Skelton 2 1d20=2, 1d8=5 Misses.
Skelton 4: 1d20=14, 1d8=6 Hit AC 5, just hit! For 6 damage.

Amon does 2 damage with magic missle.
Dogmeat attacks skeleton 2, misses.
