"Hurry, let's go!" Tanis says, and he and Laurana take off quickly. Caramon is right behind them. Magpie, her tongue lolling out of her mouth, runs as fast as she can, but is actually passed by the three much taller folk.
The rest of the group, however, doesn't seem terribly concerned about haste. Raistlin moves at his usual, steady pace. Goldmoon and Riverwind stroll at a casual rate. Flint and Tas are forced to jog just to keep up with them.
Sturm is left behind, as he slowly backs away from the building. But because he is the further behind, he is the first to see half a score of Baaz draconians burst from the building after them. Looking left and right, they spot Sturm (as well as Goldmoon and Riverwind turning the corner). The leader--the same one Riverwind shot before--raises his blade into the air and calls for a charge.

Seeing he is outnumbered, as are the group, Sturm takes off at the fastest speed he can, the idea of running away was not something he enjoyed, but it was needed. (He runs at full speed, hopefully gaining on the others)

Riverwind turns and grabs Goldmoon's hand and says "Run"

Goldmoon jogs onward, hoping the front group will slow down to allow the short-legged companions to stay with them. One by one, they were so much easier to take down!

The draconians are quick. Most of them drop to all four legs, allowing them to run much faster than most humans. Within moments, Sturm finds himself set upon by three of the monsters. He blocks one blow with his shield, but the other two are luckier and are able to get in small strikes against him. Turning, he takes off at full speed, his armor the only thing protecting him from multiple attacks along the way. He moves with such swiftness that he passes by nearly everyone else in the process!
Riverwind comes to a stop and draws his bow to cover Sturm, but the knight zooms past him, leaving the ranger on his own to face a number of angry draconians. He fires twice anyway, and both arrows hit, but don't even slow the draconian down. What's worse, is that six more of them emerge from the building, eager to join the chase!
Meanwhile, Magpie picks up the pace, actually speeding past most of the others, despite having such small legs. "This way! Hurry!" she says between breaths, before suddenly skidding to a halt by a wall. She begins inspecting the wall carefully, as if searching for something.
Caramon slows down, going back to help Raistlin.
"Let's go, doorknob!" Flint huffs at Tas. "What's wrong, can't keep up with an old man?" he asks, speeding up and leaving the kender in his dust.
Tanis and Laurana follow Magpie, and stop when she stops. The half-elf turns back to see the others, but frowns when all he sees so far are Goldmoon and Sturm (the latter speeding right past the former) but nobody else.

Goldmoon stays where she is, she can see both Magpie who seems to be looking for a secret door, and the rest of the group arriving. She keeps her staff between the knees and takes out her sling and some stones, ready to attack draconians to cover her friend's arrival if that's possible.
(ooc: Flint's behavior reminds me of my father's, who always complains that he's an old man (77), but does day-long mountainbike tours in the Canary Islands.)

OOC: holy crap, I didn't think Sturm could run so fast.....
Riverwind sees Sturm rush past way faster then he would have believed. He turns and runs as well, giving up any pretense of a fight.

"Tanis, We have to make a line here, there are too many." The Sturm bows his head in shame. "I.. I will go back and aid the others, and take a double watch this evening, to reprimand myself." With that he turns and passes Goldmoon. "My Lady, wait with Tanis and Sturm, I will aid the others."
(Just chatted to him: Sturms plan was to go back, aid the others with their escape, he will retreat backwards as they move, thus helping them. Move back to the first corner, where the smaller group was waiting. Jen.)

"Hurry Brother! Go as fast as you can!" Caramon shouts at Raistlin. He darts back to Tas and snatches up the Kender. Turning Caramon breaks into a run towards the others.
