Labyrinth OOC

A classic 2e Puzzle dungeon for High Level characters
Beware, this one is substantially longer and (IMHO) even harder than the legendary Tomb of Horrors!

Can you explain the mechanics? Does it replaces the Rary's mental link? I had the feeling that it is different and doesn't allow everyone to connect with everypne. On top of Axid being left out. But if I'm mistaken and it's a permanent all-sharing mental link, obviously it is preferable, giving another spell per day to someone :)

(I'm afraid to think how this mental link works while we are asleep, but this is an issue for a different posts board. One that quotes Sigmund Freud frequently. :) )

Right, it's a link between you and Stephen, no one else. It is also completely voluntary communication - you each get only what the other deliberately sends - no rummaging around in each other's minds or sensing idle thoughts - or dreams. So Stephen has to play Telephone Operator if you want to think to someone else. Rary's Telepathic Link should still work, and work better while the duration lasts, but this has the benefit of being permanent. And not costing a high-level spell slot.

And if we want to broadcast, is it makes sense in-game that Stephen will communicate it to all? If so I'm happy with permanent, freeing spell slot solutions :)

Regarding the Identify spell: (I'll add this to the rules thread as well)

I don't really like the way Identify is laid out in the PHB, particularly with the preparation and con penalties. Therefore we will use the following:

Same as PHB except:
Prep time reduced by 1hr/caster level-1, to a min of 1
Con penalty = -8 at 8 hours prep, -6 at 6-7 hrs, -4 at 4-5 hrs, -2 at 2-3 hrs, no penalty at 1 hr.

Ex: Bob a lvl 5 mage casts identify (he can learn 1 property from 5 diff items, 5 properties from 1 item, or any mix)
His preparation time is 4 hours (8hrs base -(level 5-1)). At 4 hours he suffers a -4 con penalty, recovered at 1pt/hr of rest

Is it Dryis or Dyris? I've seen it spelled both ways.

Question: Is the morning star just a sort of oversized mace or club? Or does it have a hinge or a length of chain? Dimension Blade won't work on whips, chains, flails, and similar weapons.

The Arms and Equipment guide gives a good description. The Morning star is basically like a spiked mace. It can be round, oval or cylindrical metal head with spikes, and usually has a pointed end for thrusting.

A flail would be the one with hinge or chain

Okay, next question is whether or not Ke'Sha has a proscription against using bladed weapons in combat, and then whether a dimension-bladed morning star counts as a bladed weapon for such purposes.

As for asking jack or ke'sha if they want the gem that can be done in-game or ooc, either is fine. we can just say he and landro discussed it 'off-stage'.

Looks like ke'sha has a scicle as a bladed weapon

Jack would get it done. But he would like to go re scout some of the area, the day of downtime, if there is a full day planned.
Probably after the mental link is established.

@Lord Torath
Is the plan that all communication goes to you, and you can rebroadcast?
Is this easily maintained by Steve?

All the communication is directly between Jack and Steve, but there's nothing preventing Steve from sharing the information with the others he has a mindlink with.

Normally there's a PSP cost of 8 per round to maintain mindlink, but after Steve uses Psychic Surgery on Jack, it no longer requires PSPs to maintain. At that point it's effectively free.

@TristanC.
Thanks! I wasn't sure if the sickle was meant purely for ceremonial purposes, or could be used as a weapon. This clarifies Ke'Sha's deity doesn't have any weapon hang-ups. I'll almost always equip my clerics with a dagger, simply because sometimes you really need to cut something, like a rope or cloth, and a hammer just won't cut it (no pun intended).
