Re: Pyros Litehand (Nocturno) - Private Thread
[Mira, Elsa and Karl stopped by OKI for a couple hours from 1-3pm, but the party at-large is at the Broken wheel after that. Here it is abt 2pm for Pyros. His chance at harmonian is abt 15%]
Pyros makes his way to the Golden Lute. The interior is decorated with finely carved and crafted, ebon stained furnishings. Painted gilding and rich green accents the dark wood. Polished brass lighting fixtures, handles, hinges and other hardware add brightness to the decor. Cut colored glass globes cover the oil lamps distributed throughout.
There is a fair crowd of locals, but most don't understand him. Some of the wait-staff he finds speak Elven. They seem to take him for an elven youngster.
(How specific is he getting about were-creatures? describing wolves? Jackals? Etc?)

Maybe I should ask this first. I don't think Krynn has lycanthropy, the skeletons and Goblyns would probably be similar enough to things he has seen before. So he would likely be more interested in those, plus, poor Cross.
===================================================================
If someone will listen he will tell them about how they pretended to be a family, and that they lured them away from the campfire.
Telling it in Elven, and embellishing his own antics in the fight of course. Especially the Kender taunt. He will try and use a few smaller words in Harmonian, to try and get more peoples attention.
He will also ask the server to announce anyone who has any experience with them, he will buy a round for that person.
==================
Maybe he is actually a Bard

[Yeah, I don't think he would have been familiar with lycanthropy prior to coming to Ravenloft. That said, he has seen his share of wolf-men, jackal-men, etc (and even heard Yasir speak of rat-men). The Goblyns are specific to Ravenloft and not like typical goblins (which also exist in Rav)]
Most of the servers seem busy with the customers but he does find one, a young lady, willing to listen. She seems to find his 'tall tales' amusing. At one point, however, she seems to realize that there may be more to it from some of the detail he is giving, and grows concerned. It is bad luck to speak of such things. And you should be careful who hears these tales. Some may take them the wrong way, and I wouldn't want you to get into trouble. she cautions

You know it is supposed to be a warning, but that sounds more like encouragement to him... lol
====================================================================================
He will sigh dramatically, taking this as a hint that none of the patrons will humour him.
He will order a drink and a small snack, while he mopes. He will feel through his pockets to see if anything new and interesting has appeared.

[Lol, naturally
]
The waitress brings him a sample plate of thin-slices meats and cheeses and a drink that seems to be non-alcoholic cider. (Though she carries a tray with the real stuff, which nimble fingers could probably swap un-noticed with a 'pick pocket' check). Poking through his pouches, he doesn't note anything new aside from the fact that Mira must have mis-laid her dagger again. That must be why he picked it up, for safekeeping.
(Where to next?)

Yeah, whenever you are ready. So not going to the Old Kartakann inn?

Oh right. He wants to try the same story there. See if he gets any hits.

After a short repast the Kender strikes out into the rain once again. Following the road he hikes uo the short rise the naturally higher elevation on the Eastern side of upper Skald. The roads here are less muddy, and the drainage better though the torrential rain still falls.
Mist from the twin waterfalls and the heavy rain obfuscate the path along the bridge so it feels like walking through a raincloud on foot. As a result, even with the cloak, he is somewhat damp from the knees down as he approaches the front.
[Which way does he want to go in, which area tonask around? There are the fancy and regular dining areas, the bar area, the side stairs that lead upwards to the servant's quarters. ]

Re: Pyros Litehand (Nocturno) - Private Thread
Pushing aside the heavy oak doors of the inn releases a shuddering creaking noise and reveals anentrance chamber. Set back on either side is a hatrack next to a bench. Alcoves jut off on both sides of the benches where various coats and outer garments hang. The room is unusually dark and the odor of wet cloth and leather hangs in the air. At the far end of the room another set of heavy looking doors stand. (If he wants to leave his soaked raincoat).
The second set of thick oaken doors leading from the cloak to farther inside open with almost no sound to reveal a long hallway. The odor of cooking is sweet in the air, sparking memories of fine meals and relaxing evenings with friends. The basic decor of the area is elegant, but in a modest and unassuming way. Light is provided by a series of fine lamps secured high on the walls. Beside the hall's entrance on the south wall is a small alcove in which several shawls and other deli-cate garments hang.
To the west, is a busy dining section with a number of tables set out for the guests. The smell of cooking clearly comes from this area.
To the north, a clerk works behind a desk, obviously handling the affairs of the inn. Behind him, a hallway runs into the heart of the building.
To the east is an arched hallway leading down some steps and ending in a thick, heavy curtain of some dark brown fabric. Where Pyros can hear several low voices coming from beyond it and the inviting smell of fine spirits is strong. (The bar)
Pyros pushes his way past the curtain. The majority of the eastern half of the room is taken up with a sunken area that contains the bar and several tables. A wide variety of bottles and glasses stand on a heavy shelf behind the party, readily available to the barkeep. The western wall of the room is composed of along row of dark brown curtains screening off three alcoves. The curtains covering the center alcove hang open, revealing a round table and several stout chairs around it. Whispers can be heard from behind the other two, but curtains are so thick that they make it impossible to overhear the discussions beyond.
There are some scattered patrons, and a single barmaid at this hour. The bartender behind the counter is a large, burly man who looks big enough to lift an average sized human with one arm. His bored expression shifts to curiosity and amusement when Pyros enters.
[Is he asking around with the waitstaff or going to try some of the patrons?]

He will leave his coat. Also were we here before?

Looking at the man who seems to be the polar opposite of him.
"Good Sir!" He will then try to dive into his story, and ask for the info second.

Re: Pyros Litehand (Nocturno) - Private Thread
[The party (pyros included) was last here to meet Akriel just before going to the canyons abt 3-4 days ago.]
The bartender grins as the Kender sidles up to the bar and begins his tale. The amusement tempers a little as his account of the were-jackal ambush goes on. By the end, he seems fairly interested. That is not a bad tale, my little friend. he says in Elven as he slides Pyros a cider. I like stories. You have any others like that?

What specifically is he asking about after the story?

Encouragement! lol What else does a Kender need?
He will ask if anyone knows of a way to tell if someone is one of the creatures in human form, or if anyone knows where they came from.(IE how to stop the source)
He will then regale the Barkeep with the fight where his leg was withered, and how he saved the day by destroying the big skeleton!

Re: Pyros Litehand (Nocturno) - Private Thread
The bartender scrubs his chin in thought, then calls over one of the patrons by the name of Roland; a hairy, dark-headed man with a short beard. They speak back and forth in that musical language, and the newcomer regards Pyros suspiciously. The bartender Haldrake says something to mollify him a little and the two think.
Pyros hardly picks up any of it, but it does seem his request is being honestly conveyed. Roland mentions a few things and Haldrake nods. Turning to Pyros and speaking Elven again he explains. He doesn't know where they all come from. I don't think anyone really does. And it's not easy to tell them in human form. Mostly you can't. But, under the light of a full moon if you spread a little mustard on the bridge of your nose, you can see them for what they really are... Something about it cutting the haze of their disguise. I'm not sure.
Roland continues to Haldrake in harmonian, who translates. And, he says if you wear a red linen ribbon over your heart against your skin that they can hurt you, but never kill you.
Roland speaks again, and Haldrake nods. And silver, of course. Silver is the only thing that really hurts them.
Pyros then recounts the tale of the battle with Radaga and Haldrake again shows some surprise. It is quickly smoothed over and he pays as much attention as before. Looking down he notes the state of Pyros' leg. That old hag got you pretty good, huh? How'd a little fellow like you end up such in such a place? Sounds pretty dangerous... (is he including the rest of the party in his stories?)
