Act 2 Scene 5: "Cavern of the Crown of Souls" (Game Thread)

[TristenC]

A pair of skeletons, one to either side, raise their spears and dive off of the platform. The chains around their ankles, anchored to the center of the chamber ceiling high above, pull tight and they swoop down like bony vultures. The spears flash past the scarecrow's clothing, but Pyros pulls it back just in time. The pair begin to use their spears to push off the wall...

[TristenC]

Elsa ponders the situation. Well... we could try to turn them in order to cross, but I'm pretty sure it would take more than one of us to affect them all. But which way do we want to go? Straight ahead over the upper bridge, or drop down to the lower and go Left or Right? she asks the group

[Jenara]

"Either we fight them, or we avoid them. And now we have to make up our minds, as those are starting to make thier way towards us."

(would the down and to the left and right take them away from the skeletons?)

[Nocturno]

Pyros will drop his "scarecrow" and ready his hoopak, absent mindedly swinging it.

[TristenC]

As the group discusses their options, the two skeletons that swooped down use their spears to swing back to their respective ledges and climb back up to their sentinel positions now that nothing is on the bridge.

So the skeletons essentially stand on ledges all around the room. Taking the bridges to any of the 3 exits would go past the skeletons first.
The map direction is a little odd but bottom right is North, bottom left (directly across from the party) is East, and upper left is South

[Jenara]

"Let me try something, everyone stay back for now." She reaches for a small amount of sand from her pouch and sings gently. "And now, I fade away, I am gone. That done she vanishes from sight, first she steps normally and steps back before walking as silently as she can.

(Mira made herself invisible)

[Nocturno]

Pyros will elbow Cross.

"Remember when you did that to me?!"

[TristenC]

With a soft song, the Bard scatters a pinch of sand in the air around her and vanishes from view!!!
With a careful steps she moves silently towards the bridge, unseen by all. As her foot touches the massive bone arch, she watches the skeletons who make no motion whatsoever. A tentative step or two later she is fully on the bridge itself, and the undead seem completely unresponsive.

Cross smirks and nods at the Kender's remark. Yes, it seems to work well on these unintelligent undead.

Mira Vanishes!

[Jenara]

"I only have one spell, I wonder." she comments as she walks back, to the group and then across the first bridge, seeing if they react.

[Jerrard]

"Magic has its uses it seems. Even if that use is to make you more of a pest. They are trigged by sight, how I wonder might we get across?" Karl stares along the bridge, watching for the Pretty Redhead who seemed so reckless. "She is almost as reckless as you." He adds talking to the Kender.

[TristenC]

Mira crosses unhindered to the other side, the footing slick but managable if not rushed.

Around the corner the passage drops steeply some 15' and then continues. The mist at her feet pours over the edge of the precipe like slow moving water. A bone ladder made of giant-sized arms held tightly in one another's grasp leads down into the mist...

[Nocturno]

Pyros waits like a puppy at the edge of the area that activated the skeletons.

"Maybe if I run really fast, all the way down, I can make them all waste their spears."

[TristenC]

That sounds even more reckless than usual. Elsa says. Besides, they aren't throwing the spears, just swinging down with them. I don't think you'd like being a pincushion.

[Nocturno]

Ah you are right. I wonder if it is the position. As in if I keep moving 'Stuffy' there. And backing up, if I could set each pair off, and we could all follow behind. They seem to be a bit of a one shot wonder. Like when Great Uncle Trapspringer would just set off the wards on the boxes the big folk would lock up, with a stick, far away."

[Jenara]

Walking back carefully, Mira returns to the others, watching the Skeletons as she does so. "There is a ladder going down, more mists, I don't like it. " She mutters, "If we all step on that bridge, they attack. If I think logically there must be a way to disable them. Jerry, Merrick, you have good eyes right..?" Trying to look like she isn't worried she tries discounting it, moving towards Karl.

(Mira is reaching here! She knows she cant go on alone, and she doesnt REALLY want to fight the Skeletons. If she can;t find a trigger she'll suggest they move on.)
