"Are they dead?" Mira asks, barely acknowledging the people talking to her, her mind a daze as she feels wounds close she didn't even feel.. "What the hell were they? This bloody land, find a place that you actually feel comfortable and it wants to kill you. " Fighting the growing darkness that threatened to consume her, she draws the other blade from her shoulder and took a step forward.. "We.. we should get everyone together, next time, no one goes out alone, no one."

"Sure," replies Jerry absently, "Glad you feel better."
Mira's words remind her that it could still be far, far worse.

Artanis lays a healing spell on Cross, before leading the kender and Gypsy back towards the others; Cross in-tow.

Elsa calls out to Mira, Jerry and Pytor when the others approach. We found him. He's still alive at least. High above concealed in the trees comes the call of Ferir Ca-Caw!!

Jerry looks up, probably seeing nothing much, "Is the bird ok?"

She beckons to Artanis, and nods at Cross. "If you hold still a moment, maybe I can help a little."
Unless stopped, she cast CLW on Cross.

"They're were-creatures. Jackals, these. Like the wolves in type," answers Jerry. "I've heard there are many types, although in truth some sound fanciful and I've not seen such myself: wererats, weregoats, werepigs."

[Jenara]

Catching sight of Cross brings Mira back to reality, her scowl draws upwards to a semi smile, concern evident.on her pretty features as she moves to meet them.

"I'm glad you're ok, damn.. it could have been worse." Offering the elf a shoulder she turns her head in Jerry's direction, "Thanks Jerry, I was.. angry, angry singing sometimes makes the magic a little more potent. Well my mentor didn't believe me, but I think it does.." wrapping her fingers with Elsa's smaller ones, the words are unspoken as she allows those who can see in the dark to lead them to camp. "Yet more wants to kill us, there are times... Well times I wonder if something doesn't want us to be here."

"Maybe, it does. That would make sense, I think, if, maybe, it somehow it feeds off us," suggests Jerry, tentatively. "Or perhaps our emotions? Unless we're just amusing. If it's an 'it' at all."

Jerry heals cross, who groggily wakes. Adrastia sets hhim on his own two feet, but continues to help support him. soon after the elf is able to stand, Fenrir swoops down and lights on his master's shoulder.

Adrastia shakes her head, These things are just hunting, she mutters, tapping the toe of her boot against one. same as any other carnivore would. They are just more intelligent and cruel than most beasts.

Elsa gives Pyros a close hug. speaking a quiet prayer of healing and washing away almost all of his injuries

the other jackal things look like the same type as the one killed in camp. all reverted to a natural-looking jackal after death.

"Can't blame a girl for being a little Paranoid in this place, it does feel like the land is trying to kill us." Mira offers with an attempt at a laugh, "Lets get back to camp. Lets make one thing clear, anything else even appears, we all wake up, no one goes off to find out who it is."

"Beasts pretending to be men... Men with the hearts of beasts. Which is viler, I wonder?" Pytor ponders while returning his warhammer to its loop. "I've grown accustomed to not sleeping much these last few weeks. I will finish out Cross' watch for him."

[Nocturno]

"Yes, thank you friend. This shock will take a bit of time to get over."

"Have any good stories of your home land?" Pyros will say to Pytor, as he absently minded kicks the jackal thing hard in the crotch area.

"Good stories?" Pytor ponders the question as he takes note of all the party members positions as they retire, perhaps letting his eyes linger on one or more of the fairer forms as they return to their bedding. "I suppose that will depend on what you consider a good story, my friend. Even so, such a story would be long and you've already had a busy night. A few hours of comfortable sleep would do the last of your wounds well. And I notice what looks to be a warm and comfortable looking kender sized spot next to Elsa and Mira. Twould be a shame for it to grow cold from disuse and be at risk of exposing the fair priestess to a chill."

"Oh that looks so tempting. But who will stand with you?"
