Act 2 Scene 2: “In Search of The Crown” (Game Thread)

[Jenara]

"I have to collect my things, once I have.. I am ready to leave." Mira responds eating the meal that Adrestia had arranged after taking a seat. "We leave as soon as we can, I'd like to cover as much ground as we can in the daylight... outside isn't exactly welcoming at night is it?"

"Would Torches be a good idea? Something to warn any... predators that might be out there?" She asks the dusty skinned woman.

Artanos quirks one eyebrow at the other redhead. Torches... yes we have torches. Adrestia amd I have been gathering supplies for a few days now. The barest hint of a smirk is visible beneath his beard.

Jerry looks at Merrick, the barest of nods and a warm, warm smile indicating that she's ready; just needing to pick up her pack. She leaves it to him to speak for the pair.

[Jenara]

"I thought you might. Good." Continuing to eat she turns her attention to the others, "I just have to get my pack and my weapons."

Merrick looks to Jerry, and then nods to Artanis. Yes, once we collect our packs from upstairs we’re quite ready. Once the food is dealt with, Artanis stands and nods to Adrestia. I’ll get Rouchard prepared. She passes her brother a glance, likely regarding Satâr de Ceaţă.

Elsa bounds upstairs to get her pack, and Merrick moves to do the same; offering to collect Jerry’s as well.

Artanis and Adrestia have already seen to mundane traveling supplies

[Nocturno]

Cross will head out to let Fenrir stretch his wings.

"We will be leaving the town shortly."

Pyros will also head out vibrating with excitement.

Cross will chuckle at the enthusiasm again.

"Yes, it does seem like limitless possibilities. I hope we find something, something I can use to help keep my old masters off my trail."

[Jenara]

"I'll get my things." Mira moves to stand, returning shortly with her pack over one shoulder, her weapons secured, and the saddle bag Adrestia had kindly allowed her to fill. "Well.. I'm ready." Flipping back the mane of red she checks her weapons and waits to leave.

Jerry shakes her head while smiling at Merrick, "Let's both go."

After finishing upstairs Jerry and Merrick return to the group, "Are we the last? All ready to go?"
She looks happier than before breakfast.

[Jenara]

Slinging the saddle bag over Satârs back when she is ready and prepares to set out. "Ready." She replies looking away for a brief moment, her thoughts elsewhere. "Shall we?"

The horses are prepped and farewells bid to the locals. Guilliam comes out to thank them all personally for the custom, and wish them well. He seems a little apprehensive about their travel into the woods, but their number and apparent preparedness seem to ease his concern.

Striking out along “The Loop”, the party passes the now somewhat-familiar shops and homes along the cobblestone thoroughfare; eventually coming to the bridge-tower leaving town to the North. No toll is charged upon leaving, and the adventurers quickly make their way onto the road. Less than a mile from town, Artanis indicates a small break in the treeline to the East as the entrance to the trail marked on Jackques’ map. Pyros, Elsa… He says congenially, If Pytor agrees, and the two of you would be willing to ride; we might be able to make it to our destination in just under 2 days rather than 3.

Once the group has decided, the Ranger leads on with Adrastia shortly behind. The morn is bright and the thick forest lush with life and activity from birds and squirrels and other small creatures. A couple of hours into the march, the faint stink of death wafts to the group. Breaking a way for a moment, Artanis investigates briefly into the woods before returning. Just a kill. Days old, so nothing to worry about. He mentions before continuing on.

It is up to the rest of the group what order they want to proceed in. Artanis and Adrastia are taking point (as the most experience outdoorsy types). Merrick will insist on staying near Jerry wherever she is.

Jerry asks, "What was the kill? And how was it dispatched? I mean normal animal predator, or something that be need to me wary of? Something less natural.."

For the journey the priestess makes the most of Merrick's proximity: unusually happy and acknowledging that with the occasional smile and shared glance.
She's content not to be on point or rear guard, otherwise is flexible.

Just a deer. Wolves it seems. Not really enough left to tell much more after a few days in the forest.

She relaxes slightly, "Good to know. Thank you."

[Jenara]

Mira keeps her postion in the middle of the group, humming softly to herself as she remains near Elsa..

"Just take my heart when you go
I don't have the need for it anymore
I'll always love you, but you're too hard to hold

She sings softly, her voice barely carrying before she coughs, blushes slightly and resumes walking.
