Act 2 Scene 2: “In Search of The Crown” (Game Thread)

"Oh! My! Umm.." stutters Jerry.
Recovering, she responds more coherently, "You may," and smiles as gracefully as she can.

"She is. I didn't. Appearances can be deceptive, especially in this place," the half-elven priestess answers. "You are bold, sir, but not unacceptably so. But allow me first to introduce my very best and most personal friend, Merrick." She indicates her better half, pauses, and then takes Pytor's arm while crinkling her eyes and nodding to Merrick that all is fine and that he should allow this. "So, do tell us about yourself, sir."

"I think I understand, this place tends to draw you in. Bad Nightmares?"

"Bad dreams are nothing new. They have plagued me for years, always with the coming of the moon. But recently something changed. They became much darker and I more savage. If only Barsali had not followed..." Remorse etches Pytor's face as his thoughts drift elsewhere.

She indicates her better half, pauses, and then takes Pytor's arm while crinkling her eyes and nodding to Merrick that all is fine and that he should allow this. "So, do tell us about yourself, sir."

Pytor nods to the elf. "With your permission, good sir." Then turns to walk the priestess to the farmhouse. "About myself? Why that would be a mostly boring tale aside from the last few days. Little different from any other gypsy lad's tale. Many years of traveling from land to land in a close-knit group, always distrusted by any who were not one of us. When our blacksmith began to succumb to the accumulation of years, I took up his hammer and have developed some skill, I am proud to say. But it is not my passion. My passion has always been the horses. Such majestic and gentle creatures, few people truly appreciate them, fewer still know how to truly ride one." He smiles slightly as the thoughts of galloping across windblown fields lighten his mood. "But enough. My story is simple and boring. Tell me some of yours. How did such an intriguing follower of... Mystra? Was it not? No matter. Surely a lady such as yourself has a far better tale to tell than I?"

[Nocturno]

"A gypsy lad? You traveled far and wide? ILOVETRAVELINGYOUSHOULDTRAVELWITHUSWEHAVEHADSOMUCHFUN!"

Mira says nothing more, instead she listens.

Pytor glances away from his conversation with Jerry. "My, you are a rambunctious lad. When I first spied you, my thought was that you were an elven child or perhaps a halfling. But I now see that you are neither. Where do you come from little one?"

Barsali, Adrestia repeats, And now he is some kind of undead abomination? She asks, not terribly alarmed. She thumbs the shaft of her ranseur unconsciously, Well i've faced walking dead and countless other horrors. Let us see what it takes to send this one back to his final rest. I had never known you lived, and i am not about to let you be taken again. she finishes sternly.

The raven haired half-elf Merrick hesitates as Pytor offers to escort Jerry inside. He seems about to approach but Jerry waves him off. He seems still a little uncomfortable, but nods in acknowledgement and acceptance at Pytor's request and follows the pair inside.


The kitchen is largely as the group left it aside from the table and chairs being moved to previously barricaide the door (though now unobstructing). A kettle and tea is easily found.


At mention of the moon, Adrestia gagues the looks of the rest of the group. We can speak of thag later, brother. There is much to learn. But... it is important for the rest of you to understand, this is not a... transformation.


The blonde halfling cleric Elsa chuckles at Pyros' outburst and Pytor's response. You see? He doesn't know what a Kender is either. And he knows halflings. she teases lightly. I suppose it's too much to hope you're from anywhere familiar. she chuckles, in a light and cheerful voice. Although Artanis and Jerry seem to be from the same place, and Pyros, Cross and Mira all come from the same world... What strange and mystical land are you from? she asks.

[Nocturno]

Me? My good Sir, I am a Kender, I hail from Krynn, which if I gather right, is a very far away place."

He then looks back to Artanis.

"Magic cart! We should definitely find that!"

"I'm going to stay outside Fenrir and I will keep watch.'

Cross will find a large stone or spot of grass under a tree and pull out a book and bury his nose.

[Jenara]

"His kind are quite ... numerous in my world." Mira explains removing her pack and crossbow, she shifts the blade perched on her back and finds a seat. Watching Merrick for a moment she shakes her red mane and drags it away with both hands before sitting astride with her legs wide open each side of the wooden back, leaning her elbows she leans forward slightly and watches.

"Wait, not a Transformation? So this Barsali, he's not going to go all hairy on us." Wincing slightly she rubs her tummy for the briefest of moments and pushes aside the dream. "So, what is he then? All of this.. these Were things, people getting killed, turned into the walking dead. Its all new to me."

[Nocturno]

"Could you imagine if we had these horrors to deal with on top of the DRAGONS?!?!

[Jenara]

"Don't talk to me about Dragons." Mira replies with pretend growl, "When I first saw a flight of Blues over my head, I knew... I knew things were going wrong."

(( How much older is Adrestia than Pytor? Part of his manner in interacting with her will stem from family and culturally hierarchy buffered by age difference.))
Pytor nods to Adrestia. "As you wish, sister. Marta bade me to heed your advice on these matters."

"Elsa is it? I grew up in the Sun Kingdom of Genwald and believed all of my life that was my homeland. However, the events of the last few days have revealed that this very land is the one that I am from."

"Numerous you say? That must be an interesting land indeed." Pytor observes the bard's actions for a moment not merely limiting himself to admiring the view. "Go all hairy? I hope not!" He self consciously pulls at his tangled beard, then runs a hand thru his unkempt hair. "Well, at least no more than a month without a proper shave and cut has made me..." It's difficult to notice with his husky complexion, but a tint of red flows onto Pytor's cheeks.

[Adrestia is no more than 4 or 5 years older, but obviously protective of her family ]


Elsa laughs abruptly, a huge grin over her pretty face. Home! He's from my home! I grew up in Hilldale, but most people don't know it well. Meadville is probably the biggest place nearby. It's the big agricultural community in the forest just West of Thel Jeers! Where were you? Elsa seems increasingly excited at the prospect of someone from home.

Adrestia ammends her explanation, We... of the traveling people struggle with the moon's powers, but not im this way. The undead are not subject to 'shape changers'... they are opposites you might say. One a thing of life one of undeath. I do not think a thing can exist as both... likely this undead has a specific purpose against Pytor. I am not as well versed in this type of undead, but we will find a way to end it. she says confidentlt.

Adran chimes in the prospect of going up against an undead does seem a challenge - what if we just blast it into oblivion or cut the head off?

[Nocturno]

"Undead, wolfmen... UNDEAD WOLFMEN? Wooooo I am getting excited!" Pyros will look so delighted, everyone may think he is slightly demented.

[Jenara]

"Yeah, people like Pyros definately make life interesting, but he's also loyal and fun. We should talk later." Smoothing down the skirt for a brief moment she grins in happiness as Elsa realises where he comes from, yet another reason to talk to him.. Elsa's offer to join her was enticing, what was left for her at home...? Yet.. there was a draw to this place. "I'm sure we can find you a razor, or...." Leaning forward she hums a soft tune..

"Off comes the beard, say goodbye.. Off comes the hair, say hello.." She sings softly..

"Wait, undeath, Jerry, isn't that sort of thing your area?" The bard asks as her little song ends.

(If Tristen permits the Cantrip will have given him a nice shave.)
