It is seasoned oak and full of nails, so quite a bit of hacking with a hand axe. Using a hammer and the axe as a wedge might make it faster but it will be a chore for certain, but doable. A crowbar would be better for prying the lid off. Being specific about what/how might help. say if they want to hack a corner open then use a long metal rod or tool (of which there are some lying around) to do prying could make it go faster.

To shove the crate off the beams would normally be a strength check. That said, if anyone attempts it they will quickly find the bottom is somehow attached to the beams themselves (reasonable assumption that it is riddled with nails from the inside to hold it in place). In this case I would call for a bend bars roll. Up to 3 people can work together and add their %

Inopportune but I am away from early in the monring until Monday. Probably little or no connectvity and lettle opporunuity anyway.
Intent: not get paralysed, get crate (presumed coffin) open, stake vamp through heart. Behead. Holy Wafer in mouth. In a controlled manner transport head and body out into sunlight &/or immesion in running water. NPC me if needed. Maybe folks will still be figuring out the gas effects before I get back.
