"Today, I didn't do much, Karl ended the creature, Riel opened where it was, all I did was talk to the Guards and the People at the mil-" she explains softly, Sabrina attempting to interrupt her. "It's ok, I realised, when we lost some people I cared about I was doing more than I should, I wasn't trained to fight like the Esker or Karl or the others, I'm not really a spellcaster like Merrick or Jerry. I do little bits. And I realised today my little bit is keeping everything together. A friend once told me that The Songbird is not the Eagle and the Eagle is not the Songbird." She stops again.
"Finally!" Sabrina gasps. "I know a little of what you do. You shield me from it I know. But.. you can't do everything." Sabrina answers pulling the elder woman close.
"I know I've been protecting you, it's a scary world out there and i hated that a little bit of that fell at your doorstep. But if you are joining me then I'll have to accept that. That creature was, I'm told a Vampire, the body of someone who once lived turned into a monster and.. well it's not very nice." Mira answers in a quieter voice than usual.
"But it's gone?" Mira nods to the Girls question. "Mariette taught many people things, losing her to that thing is an insult. I don't blame you. I blame it. I hope one day I will forget what I saw. I think I see why you drunk so much!"
"I did once, and then I found you. You are an anchor. Never forget that." The red head explains as she pulls the girl closer. "You are my grounding, when.. when we were looking for something. All that kept me going was coming back to you..." Sabrina flushes.
"Me? You thought of me?"' Mira nods at the Girls question. "I'm flattered, I'm getting used to the idea. I don't think anyone has ever said anything to me like that. See.." she pulls Mira's face to her own. "If I would have known, I might have dreamed of you too." She closes her eyes, realising that was a falsehood. "I think I did too." Her lips press tightly against the Redheads.
They fall together, arms wrapped around each other..
