Act 3, Scene 1: Assembly and Supplication

With the pleasantries concluded, Findalsip will write in his notebook of the things he has encountered. Furry bears, furry rangers, tall elves, foul worgs, accursed goblins, and orcs. How even in these outside places Calladuran has connection. He wonders if the elves here even know about Calladuran Smoothhands and the wonderful things he does and provides. He scribbles all his random thoughts down. He determines he has more to learn about his hosts and then attempts (heavy on the attempts) to get to know more about them by attempting to befriend an elf.

[Nocturno]

Nocturno will simply ask to be shown where to clean up for the feast.

[Jenara]

"We are thankful." She answers in Elven. "Do you know of our task?" She asks curiously.

[Nocturno]

Waiting to hear the answer to that question, He waits.

Jordek makes himself comfortable against the bole of one of the great trees nearby. Oh yeah, these guys have been pretty useful dealing with the goblins and stuff. We even fought a Basilisk! You can definitely count on them, they really step up when it counts! The forest Gnome rambles on, chitt scurrying out and chattering in his ear. Jordek squeaks something back and the small sciuridae scurries away in excited exploration.

In response to Linar's request, Laserie I see no harm in sharing knowledge, though you will find few here who practice the Arcane arts. I will spread the word. There seem to be only a handful of children, several keeping their distance but watching all the newcomers with wonder.

To Katten
We know of your charge to defeat the Wetrock goblin tribe, and that through that you discovered a much more serious threat. Something that has been by prophecies of the Sylvan Elves and the visions of our own dear Galmionel. It seems your duty has expanded significantly.

Nocturno is shown to one of the tree homes where a grown-wooden pitcher and basin of fresh spring water are provided for cleaning up. The group is left to relax and refresh themselves while the meal is prepared.

A steady stream of excited but unhurried activity from the locals soon sees the construction of cook-fires and arrangements of temporary tables to bear produce. Rich leafy greens, fresh fruits, honey and other delicacies of the forest are assembled alongside tender Elven breads.

With surprising alacrity the lighter fare is served as the fires are pit to use. Venison, hare and game birds are roasted to perfection with golden crispness. Clear water, fruit juices, summer wine, meads and tea are made available. The former captives eyes marvel and mouths water at the succulent bounty after months of mistreatment and near starvation. After the guests are served others begin to partake of the feast as well. Nearby but unseen, gentle music of harp and violin drift down from somewhere in the canopy above.

Nocturno will try to find a moment with Katten.

"It seems they will be willing to help. Do you know them well?"

[Jenara]

"Its become so much more. I am just a warden... But I will do what I can. I cannot see all we have fade.." she answers quite cryptically for the usually stoic ranger.

She replies to Nocturno in Elven with a smile, "These are the good folk, they will help where they can and probably where it aids them. They are feeding us are they not?"

Findalsip watches the things unfold, food and drink laid out. I muses that this is so much different from the imposing fake rock structure of the humans. The shaped rock provided no comfort and not a little distress at how Callarduran's gift had been so... abused. He did feel a certain sense of calm on this rock he found, the elves at least are friendly and not like the drow below. He kept his hood up as the daytime is bothersome to him. How does this one manage it, he wondered. The smell of the food finally made his tummy protest. After not making a lot of headway with the attempts to befriend, he decided to try some elven fare. He decided that the elven wines and meads are super delicate. The fare from the forest has a certain charm to it. He happily munched on some of the fruit and CHEESE! They had some cheese. Aged cheese being a fondness of his. He almost brought out his special stash of wine but... no. That would not be safe.

Linar asks, "Is anyone here hurt?"

If not, he will have a search for a piece of fallen or unwanted hardwood suitable for carving.
If he can't see one, he then asks if there is one for which he can buy or trade.

Used to the niceties on such a dinner, Nocturno performs whatever is usually expected while dining and will help in anyway in asking for the item to complete the "weapon"

Katten has no such skills, she is a wild animal first, and will remain a wild animal on the day she dies...

During dinner Nocturno will broach the subject of the item they require.

Linar checks with the others, finding that both Nocturno and Fin are still sporting minor injuries [about 4 hp dmg each]. He is also able to find a small chunk of hardwood near the stacked lumber for the fire that one of the locals assures him is perfectly fine to use for his crafts.

As they take their repast, Nocturno brings up the conversation of completing the device. Penlemmir speaks quietly to one of the guards and turns back to the Protector from Misan. Ah, yes. Signa said you had been entrusting him with the first piece that you found. He saw fit to leave it here with us as for safe-keeping. He also said that, according to the journal you discovered, it must be assembled before it can properly contain the power source. The elder elf's eyes stare into space for a moment, I know not how you intend to convince the council of Lesoger to part with the Amber Sphere... but I pray you succeed... for all our sakes.

Just then the guard returns, leading another Elven man. Sun gold hair hangs behind peaked ears to frame a lean, angular face containing sightless eyes of a milky blue-white. Cascading robes of greens and subtle browns drape around the figure, blending him with the natural surroundings. In his hands, still strong and sure, he carries an object wrapped in raw-spun linen. As they approach, he offers it to Nocturno, unwrapping the object: a metal rod the length of his forearm that shines like high-polished steel with one end threaded and the other end sporting two holes for pins.

When things are quiet Linar discreetly asks Fin, "What value would you put on these?" as he indicates the gems.
