Act 3 Scene 2: Coffins and Crowns

[Nocturno]

Pyros yells down, "I already found the trap!"

Jerry offers her rationale aloud, asking if anyone is prepared to Detect traces of Evil. Elsa shakes her head, but Merrick calls up in reply. I do not have that spell, but I am prepared to Detect the Undead.

Kyballion squeezes his way into the toom and finds several sturdy crates weighty with toola and parts. In a few minutes he is able to stack several against a wall where one could barely reach the beams above to pull themsleves up.

Althiriel searches for any prints or signs of passage, but the crowd in the small room has destroyed any traditional tracks. The walls likewise reveal nothing.

"Detect Undead! Yes, let's do that, please! Good man, Merrick!" Jerry calls. She looks grim. "Let him up!"

[SwifiePrincess]

"Any clues aren't long since lost." She sighs and moves to allow the one they called Merrick to enter.

"Thank you for trying, Riel," Jerry responds, the corners of her mouth attempting a smile.

Kybalion hears Mira’s inquiry and it gives him pause for just a moment. He looks at the beam above and then around the room for Mira. “M’lady, I am well. My first concern is for everyone here and putting an end to this… thing. I wish for the safety of the town and we all come out of here alive and none the worse for wear. I pray this day that even not one lock of your hair is harmed”.

Merrick climbs up to join the others, making the upper chamber truly crowded now; though the stacking of crates seems to have helped marginally. The Half-Elven man takes a thumb-sized clump of earth from one pouch. Closing his eyes he murmurs his magical mnemonic as the crumbles the dusty dirt over his face. Brushing off his lids, Elven eyes open and begin scanning the space with an eerie pale blue glow. He takes a few minutes, panning his gaze across the crates and barrels of tools and supplies. Finally he turns to face the network of beams above. His mouth tightens into a thin line. It's up there...

Esker Manyblades

Esker's eyes follow where Merrick has indicated. He then scans the area for any likely way up to the beams. He hopes for a ladder doubtful there will be any such easy way up.

[The stack of crates Kybalion made seems the only way up unless one uses magic or rogue skills. Using the crates one can grab hold of the beam and pull up with a strength check]

[Jenara]

Mira remains down at the foot of the ladder waiting..

"I suspect Pyros can.get up there easily, but that would put him at risk, something I am not happy with at all. Does that ladder move?" Karl asks looking at the one they just used to.get up. "Perhaps we should ask what they do to get up there normally?"

[Chris1234]

"Can we get a rope over the beam? Tie it off and use that as an aid to climb?" Jerry asks, not really being skilled in tackling vertical challenges.

[Nocturno]

Pyros perks up. "Risk where?! I'll do it."

Cross continues to keep watch outside.

If Pyros doesn't already have one in effect, when he passes next to her, Jerry tell him to keep still and she casts Protection from Evil on him.

[Nocturno]

He will screech to a halt, and reluctantly wait. Getting more wiggly with every passing second. He will then shoot off to climb the crates.
