Immortal
Quickenings!
In
Vastonia Immortals do not receive experience in the same fashion as that of
normal Mortals. Instead they earn experience and power through the defeat of
other Immortals. When an Immortal defeats an opposing Immortal they receive
an extraordinary occurrence called a Quickening. A Quickening is not the only
way in which an Immortal can advance in personal power and influence but is
by far the most expedient and rewarding for themselves and their personal Spheres.
However,
if an Immortal is to receive a Quickening, he/she must not only slay an opposing
Immortal. They must kill them
by removing their heads, thus forever removing them from the
eternal multiverse
What
a Quickening Does
All
Immortals have a certain number of experience points called "Power Points"
(PP.) which allow them to use their powers as they so choose, either in the
creation of artifacts/magic items, in the casting of spells or perhaps to travel
the multiverse. The more PP an Immortal attains, the more power they possess
as Immortals and the higher they advance in Immortal rank (levels). For the
purpose of Vastonian campaigns, PP will be used as an Immortals experience level
and the Immortals general level of power.
Now
the only thing which remains untold is how many PP each Immortal receives upon
the slaying of another Immortal. Well this could NOT be any more simple. Once
an Immortal has been slain in personal combat, their life essence returns into
the multiverse and is consequently given to the victorious Immortal as a reward
of his/her Sphere (received through a Quickening). The exact number of Power
Points received through the Quickening is the exact number of Power Points of
the defeated Immortal opponent. To simple, kill an Immortal with 5,000 PP and
you'll receive 5,000 PP in your Quickening.

Special
Note: Mortals cannot receive Quickenings under any circumstances, but do
receive an exceptional amount of experience. This is determined also by consulting
an Immortals PP. The amount of experience received, is the Immortals PP x 10
for temporary banishment or the Immortals PP x 50 for permanently slaying them.
This may seem like allot of experience but remember, YOU HAVE TO KILL THEM FIRST
- Not in my lifetime as a DM....mo hahaha.
Also,
take note that a 1st level Immortal is actually a 30th level being (see The
Path of Immortals for details).
