Undead
Slayer!
The
Undead Slayer is perhaps one of Vastonia's more dangerous occupations. They
fear only failure and the dishonor of oneself. Undead Slayer's spend their entire
lives training for conflict between themselves and the parallels of the undead.
Undead Slayer's keep themselves in well known locations, seeking employment
as a constant lifeline. The sheer pressure and adrenaline rush of undead slaying
makes these fearless warriors tic, and the glory of killing the unholy is surpassed
by nothing! They don the strangest of weapons and the most unusual armor of
any AD&D class. Undead Slayer's are usually a bit crazy and are generally
of neutral alignments.
General
Info:
Undead Slayer warriors use a ten sided die (1D10) for hitpoint determination
while Undead Slayer priest's use an 8 sided (1D8+1). The extra hit point the
slayer priest gains is given due to the intense training used against all undead.
Undead Slayer's start with d6 x 10 gp, 3 weapon proficiency slots and 5 non-weapon
proficiency slots. They then receive 1 WP and 1 NWP slot every 3 levels. Bonus
proficiencies include; undead lore, endurance, languages (one individual undead
), blindfighting.
Class
Restrictions:
Can never be dual class or multi class. Undead Slayer's must have a minimum
CON score of 14 and a WIS score of not less than 12.
Combat
Bonuses:
Undead Slayer's are immune to the effects of any fear projected from an undead
creature. All Undead Slayer 's receive a +2 bonus to attack rolls Vs any undead
and a +4 bonus to hit against one specific type of undead (Lich, Mummy's, Banshee's,
Ghouls, Vampire, Ghosts etc..) Undead Slayer's also receive a +1 damage bonus
/ level vs their selected specialty undead (e.g.. a Lich slayer). They save
vs deathmagic for half or no damage from any special attack forms their specified
undead class may possess (e.g.. a Ghost slayer would receive a saving throw
Vs a ghosts aging effects for half or no penalty). With a simple undead lore
check the Undead Slayer will be able to recall certain undead weaknesses. (e.g..
a Lich need a +1 or better weapon used against it, thus the Lich suffers no
damage from the slayer unless he/she uses a +1 magical weapon). Undead Slayer's
learn the following special attacks as part of their training.
At
4th level
Deflection:
Deflects 1 physical attack from any undead. This special defensive maneuver
can be made but once/day. The Undead Slayer must only make a simple hit roll
which exceeds the concerned attack. He/she receives a +4 bonus to this roll,
if the roll equals the undead creatures attack roll the deflection is only half
effective. Thus the Undead Slayer still suffers half damage. This attack only
uses 1 of the Slayer's attacks.
At
8th level
Massive
Strike: Aimed at the undead's vital point, this attack doubles an Undead Slayer's
main attack. The attack is made at a -4 penalty. This attack can only be used
once/day.
At
12th level
Immunity:
This allows the Undead Slayer to pick one specific undead attack to be completely
immune from (e.g.. immune to a wights energy draining attack). Note this does
not make the slayer immune from other undead energy draining effects.
Special
Disadvantages:
nil, but must have a deity to worship.
