Shaman
Warrior!
Shaman
Warriors represent the healers of primitive cultures. Some believe them to be
profits of the gods, messengers of the divine. To some extent this is true,
they do receive blessings and direction from their deities, but nothing more
than that of a normal cleric. They are perhaps the more intelligent of their
tribal members, using minds tricks and slight of hand as a way of gaining an
awe-like power over their underlings and fellow warriors. Above all Shaman Warriors
practice magic, not that of arcane spell use but rather clerical in nature and
capability. They seek not to gain land or riches, but rather strive to gain
power and respect within their tribe and to cast fear into their enemies. With
both the training of warriors and the guidance of gods, Shaman Warriors are
by far the most powerful people that inhabit the Island of Endless Battle.
Class
Requirements: The Shaman Warriors have two major prime requisites,
strength and wisdom. In order to become a Shaman Warrior one must have a minimum
strength of 12 and a wisdom of not less than 14, a high dexterity is also desired.
Shaman Warriors can be of any alignment but are generally chaotic in nature.
Shaman Warriors have no restrictions on what type of armor they can wear or
what weapons they can use. Shaman Warriors must be human, elven or orcish.
General
Info: Shaman Warriors use a ten sided die (1D10) for hitpoint determination.
Shaman Warriors start with very little money ( 1d6 x 10 gp), 3 weapon proficiency
slots and 4 non-weapon proficiency slots. They then receive 1 WP slot every
3 levels and 1 NWP every 2 levels. Bonus proficiencies include; running, alertness,
healing. Shaman Warriors use the same combat table as that of fighters.
Class
Restrictions: Can never be dual class or multi class.
Combat
Bonuses: Can turn undead as a cleric of equal level. They gain a
+1 bonus / level to all damage attacks Vs larger than man-sized creatures (
7' an up) due to their cultures constant struggle against larger than man-sized
enemies (the dinosaurs). NOTE: if a player chooses not to use the "Islands
of Endless Battle" as his characters main background, he/she loses the
Shaman Warrior's damage capabilities Vs larger than man-sized creatures.
Special
Advantages: Shaman Warriors can use weapon specialization's, but
have the same restrictions as that of normal fighters.
Special
Disadvantages: Shaman Warriors follow the same spell progression
as that of Clerics but they can only attain spells not exceeding 5th level in
power. Their primitive minds and subservient deities restrict the Shaman Warriors
ability to progress in the knowledge needed to excel in the greater powers of
spell use.
