Giant
Killers!
Giant
Killer's are ruthless warriors when it comes down to slaying any giantkind.
They prefer to hunt on their own, seeing personal glory and triumph as primary
importance Although when working with others the Giant Killer will allow shared
glory unless the foe is of the giantkind class, then the Giant Killer will stop
at nothing to vanquish his/her enemy by themselves. Any other course of action
is considered cowardly and unworthy of calling the battle a victory. The one
exception to this rule is when the Giant Killer is outnumbered, at this time
any allies are considered useful decoys. They always arm themselves heavily,
wearing extra thick armor, long gloves, oversized helms and pack plenty of weapons.
Metals and celebration is no comparison to a Giant Killers personal glory and
passion for killing a giant folk.
Class
Requirements: The principle attribute of a Giant Killer is strength.
To become a Giant Killer one must have a minimum strength of 15 and must also
have a dexterity of not less than 13, a constitution of at least 14 and a minimum
of 12 intelligence. The Giant Killer can be of any alignment but tends to side
more towards the neutrals. The Giant Killer must be of the Elven, Dwarven or
Dwelven race.
General
Info: Giant Killer's use an eight sided die (1D8) for hitpoint determination
and add +2 for each hit die rolled, thus equaling a fighter hit-die of 1d10.
This is due to the Giant Killers rigorous training for giant combat. Giant Killers
start with 5d4 x 10 gp, 4 weapon proficiency slots and 3 non-weapon proficiency
slots. They then receive 1 WP and 1 NWP slot every 3 levels. Bonus proficiencies
include; ancient history (giants), endurance, languages (giant), tracking.
Class
Restrictions: No spell use, can never be dual class or multi class.
Combat
Bonuses: +1 bonus / level to all damage rolls Vs giants, giant kin,
ogres, trolls, ettin and related beings. The damage bonus (and those bonuses
for STR, DEX and magic) apply to hurled weapons. With a simple ancient history
check the Giant Killer will be able to recall certain giant weaknesses. Eg a
frost giant is immune to cold. The Giant Killer also receives a +2 bonus towards
pinpointing attacks but only when using hurled weapons. Eg instead of the normal
-4 penalty they only receive a -2 penalty when pinpointing attacks. They also
negate the initiative penalty of +1, thus suffering no penalty when calling
a pinpointed attack. Special
Disadvantages:
The Giant Killer must slay (on his own) at least one giant or giant-kin / level.
If this is not accomplished the Giant Killer will not receive any bonuses attained
by advancing to the new level.
