The Dragon Slayer!

The dragon slayer is a human warrior specially trained to battle dragons. Some dragon slayers consider themselves to be on a holy mission of some sort or another, while others are simply part of an order of knights dedicated to protecting humanity from one or more type dragons. A dragon slayer is easy to recognize. Warriors and priests wear specially crafted armor used to protect themselves from the dragons weapons (claws, teeth and breath). The armor is often fashioned after the great wyrms they battle. Dragon shaped helms, scalemail and other armors inlaid with scales and protruding spikes. The general cast of Dragon Slayers are human knights dawning bardiches, two-handed swords, awls, pikes, tridents and other two-handed weapons. While mages often use dragon fang daggers or bone staves as their main weapons of choice.

Class Requirements: The principle attribute of a Dragon Slayer is strength. To become a Dragon Slayer one must have a minimum strength of 14 and must also have a dexterity of not less than 12, and a constitution of at least 12. The Dragon Slayer can be of any alignment but tends to side more towards the lawful ethos. The Dragon Slayer must be of the Human, Half- Elven or Elven race.

General Info: Dragon Slayer fighter's use a ten sided die (1D10) for hitpoint determination while Dragon Slayer mage's use a 4 sided (1D4+2). The extra 2 hit points the slayer mage gains is given due to the rigorous combat training used against dragon kind. Dragon Slayer's start with 7d4 x 10 gp, 4 weapon proficiency slots and 3 non-weapon proficiency slots. They then receive 1 WP and 1 NWP slot every 3 levels. Bonus proficiencies include; ancient history (dragons), endurance, languages (one dragon group/ chromatic, gem, metallic etc.), tracking.

Class Restrictions: Can never be dual class or multi class.

Combat Bonuses: Dragon Slayers are immune to the effects of dragon fear. All Dragon Slayer's receive a +2 bonus to attack rolls Vs any dragon and a +4 bonus to hit against one specific dragon type (black, red etc.). Dragon Slayer's also receive a +1 damage bonus / level vs any dragon kind and save Vs breath weapon for half or no damage. With a simple ancient history check the Dragon Slayer will be able to recall certain dragon weaknesses. E.g. a red dragon is immune to fire based attacks. Dragon Slayer's learn special attacks as part of their training.

At 4th level

Wing Attack: Aimed at the dragon's wing muscles, this attack is made at a -3 penalty. In addition to normal damage this attack keeps a dragon from flying for 1 round per 10 points of damage inflicted.

At 8th level

Breath Stun: Aimed at the dragon's gullet, this attack disables a dragons breath weapon for 1 round. The attack is made at a -4 penalty. In addition to normal damage, the breath weapon is disabled for 1 round per point of damage inflicted.

At 12th level

Great Blow: This attack uses everything a slayer has and may be aimed at any part of the dragon's body. A slayer expends hit points and receives a -4 penalty. If successful, the dragon takes normal damage plus loses as many hit points as the slayer expended.
