Monetary System & Currency!

Physical Appearance Description Value Exceptability Within the Realm

The Steel Piece (StP)

This coin was developed late in the passing century for the shear purpose of having a coin which would represent a larger amount of gold than the more common PP. The coin is made from the rare metal Elven Steel, but is more commonly used within the Human Kingdoms rather than in Elflore.

The Steel Piece -StP

represents 10 gold pieces- GP or 2 platinum pieces -PP

Dragon's extremely value these pieces but it is very rare to find the piece amongst a dragon's horde (next to nonexistent)

Widely excepted throughout Vastonia. The piece itself is vary rare amongst poor civilizations, so rare that it may be considered useless by many cultures. The StP is generally carried by the upper class folk and makes for easy high value storage.

The Platinum Piece (PP)

This coin was developed at the turn of the century in 302 A.D. by Dwarven Far Tunnelers. The coin became common currency amongst the Dwarven populace and was later adopted as a coin of unity across the land. By late 305 A.D. the coin was widely used across the entire Human Kingdoms and later spread into Elflore and other Demi Human civilizations.

The Platinum Piece -PP

represents 5 gold pieces- GP and two of these coins can be exchanged for a steel piece (StP)

Excepted throughout the entire realm with the exception of the Minotaur League, which use a coin called Bantha piece -BP as a replacement. (see below)

The Gold Piece (GP)

This coin was developed sometime before 2000 B.A. by an unknown source. However the coin has always been in common use throughout the land. This coin represents a perfect medium and all coins within Vastonia will be referenced in comparison to the GP.

The Gold Piece -GP represents as mentioned before the medium of all coins. It takes 5 GP to equal 1 PP and 10 GP to equal 1 StP. Also 1 GP can be traded in for 200 CP, 10 SP or 5 EP. The gold piece is by far the most widely excepted form of currency throughout Vastonia. Every culture excepts this coin as a valued commodity. If not for payment, it will be valued within temples, used for art or perhaps decoration and sometimes melted down for other applications.

The Electrum Piece (EP)

Developed in the year 1507 B.A. This coin is very common amongst Humans societies by can be next to useless in certain other regions of Vastonia.

The Electrum Piece -EP

represents 1 fifth of a GP or 25 EP can be traded in for 1 PP. It also can be traded in for 2 SP or 100 CP

This coin is also widely excepted amongst the realm, but can "as mentioned before" be considered nothing more than green metal within certain regions of Vastonia

The Silver Piece -SP

Developed around the same time as the GP, the silver piece is most commonly used by human merchants and middle class citizens. Somewhat heavier in weight than the other coins due to it's thickness, people are quick to exchange this piece into EP or a coin of greater value.

The Silver Piece -SP

represents 1 tenth of a GP or ½ an EP. It can also be traded in for 20 CP.

The silver piece is excepted throughout the known realm. It is worth twice it's normal value to hunters of the Lycanthrope race and is considered good luck to many native peoples.

The Copper Piece -CP

Developed shortly after the silver piece, this coin is by far the most common currency within the realm. It is most commonly found in use by poor merchant's, lower class citizens and by almost all of the Demi Human races as the major currency.

The Copper Piece -CP

represents the second least valued coin of the realm, however it is the most common currency. 200 of these coins can be traded in for 1 GP or 20 CP can be traded in for 1 SP.

The most common coin of the realm. The CP makes up over half of the worlds total coin volume.

The Porcelain Piece -PrP

Developed by the kingdom of Asintine in the year 2056, this coin has become all but extinct. It holds almost no value throughout the realm and is almost impossible to trade in for useful currency.

The Porcelain Piece -PrP

ultimately represents the lowest value coin of the realm. Only lower lower class citizens possess this coin and use it amongst themselves when bartering for food rations or other commodities of low value.

Not widely excepted by any race, clan or society. This coin has become extremely rare and can only be found in the northern regions of Vastonia.

Other World Currency!

The Bantha Piece -BP

Developed by the Minotaur's of their own right. The Bantha Piece is the only coinage commonly used within the Minotaur League. The coin itself is twice the diameter of a normal platinum piece, but half as thick. Minotaur trade workers will only exchanged PP in place of this coin, as they can be sold back to the King in full.

The Porcelain Piece -PrP

represents the lowest value coin of the realm. Only lower lower class citizens possess this coin and use it amongst themselves when bartering for food rations or other commodities of low value.

Not common in any region but the Minotaur League, however most societies will trade Bantha coins for platinum coins, although a slight traders fee may be charged. Usually around 15%.
