Dragons of Vastonia!

Here I have presented 2 of Vastonia's infamous dragons, they have both since been slain but it took centuries to do so. Both of these dragons are very powerful and can easily defeat low level parties or parties low in number. If you are the DM using these dragons, please have mercy on your players and do NOT use them to slaughter the unworthy. Also if you are an inexperienced DM please do not use these dragons, seeing them easily killed would thus destroy your campaign world. Easy treasure of this caliber would defiantly take all the fun out of playing AD&D.

Magic Resistance: 65%

Size: 558 feet long (G)

Morale: Relentless (20)

Appearance: Typ'iacon appears as a huge moss covered, dust settled mound. Although after prying herself from the earth's surface, her hard metal like scales show from beneath several thick layers of dirt and clinging treasure, thus revealing a massive red dragon. Typiacon is the eldest of all dragon kind within Vastonia, nearing 3,500 years of age.

Combat: Typiacon lies beneath a most impressive treasure horde, to anyone's standards. She represents greed to the utmost, keeping track of every possession. She will never kill an opponent without severely injuring them first. Her breath weapon is a 90' long, 5' wide by 30' wide base fire burst, nearly as hot as molten lava. Nothing less than an 8 inch blade can penetrate her scales and for the first 4 rounds when Typ'iacon rises from her horde she receives a plus 3 bonus to her armor class equaling -14. This is due to the sheer bulk of dirt and treasure clinging to her frame. She is immune to small blades of less than 1' in length, normal missiles and any spells of 4th level or less. Immune to all illusionary spells, charm spells, suggestion and any other mind effecting spells.

Innate Abilities: Affect normal fires, Pyrotechnics, Heat metal, Suggestion, Hypnotism.

Other Attacks: Tail smash 2d10 plus 12, effecting up to 19 targets/ save vs petrification at a negative 12 or be stunned for 1d4 minutes.

Habitat/Society: Typ'iacon lives within Tutjak's mighty mountain range, deep within an ancient cavern. The cavern spans around 2000' x 3000' with a ceiling height of 500'. The locals (orcs) spend much of their time sacrificing humans and other captured creature's to this great wyrm which they believe to be a god. For thousands of years Typ'iacon has made this massive cavern her home, with the occasional party of warriors traversing into her midst. With hopeless dreams of Slaying this legendary creature. Over the last 100 years, only 2 attempts have been made to put and end to her existence with neither prevailing. Her treasure! so grand that 80% remains buried within the earth for only her to know. Typ'iacon's entire layer is protected with a 26th level antimagic zone, which can only be dispelled by a greater power. Her ancient ways have allowed special abilities to be used within this cavern. Meaning although the magical barrier would normally cancel out any magical spell casting or magical use, has literally no effect on her. Any person or creature within a 10' radius of Typ'iacon also receives these benefits and can use magically based attacks as normal.

This means ya gotta get close to her to be of any use, mo ha ha....

Sly'Tavicon

Climate/Terrain: Mountain/ Dungeon

Armor Class: -6 (but must have special weapon, see below)

Movement: 12'' (D34'')(Sw 12'')

Hit Die: 19 plus 100 Hitpoints *special*

Thaco: 9 (base)

Magic Resistance: 40% plus 20% (60%)

Size: 126' body, 80' tail (G)

Morale: Unforgiving (20)

XP Value: 19,000

Appearance: Sly'Tavicon appears as a gigantic 200' long shinny silver scaled dragon. She is undoubtedly the most cruel, unheartly creature known to Elfkind. Although appearing as a metallic dragons, she is actually a great wyrm black dragon and endows all of a black dragons qualities and powers.

Combat: Sly'Tavicon prefers to ambush targets using spells as cover. She loves to kill Elves and any other humanoids that stand in her path. Her breath weapon is a 5' wide, 60' long beam of acid (sv for half dmg) Spells are cast at 16th level ability. Sly'Tavicon uses her best attacks against the more superior warriors first, thus leaving only the weak to pound into the ground. Her best defense lies in her own scales. Many long years ago Sly'Tavicon backed into a massive magic pool, covering her entire body in a thin coating of what is thought to have been a liquid adamantite substance. After the battle she returned to her layer lying dormant for around 15 years. Once awoke Sly'Tavicon dawned vastly superior scales. The liquid actually conformed to her very shell and now only specially forged weapons can penetrate her skin. (e-mail me for details)

Innate Abilities: Darkness 21' radius/ Corrupt water 21.cu ft/ Plant growth once per day / Summon insects once per day/ Charm reptiles 3 times per day.

Other Attacks: Tail smash 2d6 plus 11, effecting up to 15 targets/ save vs petrification at a negative 11 or be stunned for 1d4 plus 1 round. Wing Buffet 1d6 dmg, Dex check or be knocked prone.

Habitat/Society: Sly' Tavicon dwells deep within the Wild Elven Highlands, far into the forests, and within a cursed swamp called "Alintia Chiam" by the Elves. It has been rumored for years by Elven people that she lives deep within the Kagon mountains. This was only legend, Only Portheous the Wild Elf knows the true location of this legendary swamp. Most humanoids are killed off long before even getting close to her layer. Sly'Tavicon's layer is somewhat close to the mountain range, since the swamp leads into it. She conceals her real layer within a cavern underneath the embankment of the mountains, covered by a wall of plant growth.

Ecology: Sly'Tavicon prefers to eat Elves, for that matter any humanoids. She will devour almost anything. Her minions sacrifice many beings to her by casting the dead bodies into the swamp outside her layer. Leaving them to be pickled for her to consume later.

Variants: none
