HI. I'm Zid.

Hey, all.
My name is Zid, and I'm an old school gamer. Well I guess 'older school' would be a bit more appropriate. I started playing rpg's in 1984 when I was just ten years old (earlier if you count D&D for the Coleco). I started out with the D&D red box when I managed to find a little hole in the wall hobby store one day while riding my bike around town. It was a tiny little place, and the regulars there were old school geeks (save for the owners girlfriend who looked like she was right out of a Bon Jovi video. They decided to let me join in, and while I was pretty much the butt of their practical jokes most of the time I didn't care because the game blew me away.
After I got out of high school I met a guy in college who I ended up being friends with. He told me that he'd started up his old game group only his old group ended up deciding they didn't have time for it so would I like to join he and his younger cousins in order to make a new group? "Sure!" I said. It had been over five years since I'd gotten to play, and I missed it. That group ended up being a life changing experience. We spent the next ten years playing 1st edition AD&D. Since I stopped playing tabletop games in 2000 I've had more experience playing mmo's (Everquest, Vanguard, Lotro, and now Wildstar) but I still love tabletop.
Sometimes I wish I were part of an active group but there's a lot of hassle that goes along with that sort of thing so I don't miss it -that- much.
I'm going to be 40 in August, I'm pansexual, and poly. I live with my two most wonderful partners, I have a lot of great friends, and most of the good in my life came my way because of my love of role playing games.
Thanks for keeping the flame burning, and can't wait to get to know folks.
