Here's 101 names for use in games, all thought up by me. Enjoy.
Wow. Poet too.

I'm quite a fan of the 'humorous' names - not straight-out comedy names but ones with a deeper entertainment factor.
Here's a few examples...
My current Runequest character is called Kevlar Steele.
I had a Traveller character who was a bit gung-ho, his name was 'Seymour Killmore'. Oddly enough he died in a firefight.
I've long wanted a dwarf fighter called 'Britax', and I've got a monk called 'Zen Dodd'.
Of course, a really good comedy name is always funny no matter how often you use it. When we played Legend of the Five Rings a few years ago, one of the group struggled for a name for his fighter - I gave him 'Mirumoto Itchiarsi'. My own character in that was called 'Matsu Sanyo'...
Feel free to re-use any of these names. Of course, you can always pick more staple comedy greats, such as 'Connie Lingus' or 'Dermot O'Logical'.

Speaking of humorous names, I once played a samurai called Jeiku Burusu. He looked a lot like John Belushi.
And a friend of mine had a character called "Dixie Normas" (say it out loud).
If you are looking for names, a good source is the Everchanging Book of Names. It's a shareware utility that generates random names.
It includes a variety of "Chapters," each chapter containing the parameters/rules of construction for names in a given society/setting/culture. A wide variety of chapters are available for a number of real-world settings like ancient Rome, medieval Britain, Northern Europe, Africa, and China; for various nations in Greyhawk; Elven names from Middle Earth, etc.
It's free, and although the interface is a bit clunky, it's well worth looking into.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but here's a resource I've been using for years when coming up with names.
http://www.census.gov/topics/population ... files.html#
They're real world names, naturally, but I often like to go through until I see one I like, maybe change a vowel or something to come up with something original and fitting for a fantasy setting. Great for naming NPCs on the fly! The surnames I find to be particularly useful as they're more likely to already be a little more obscure... plus there's nearly 90,000 of them in the list!
Cheers

You see, that's creativity at work - repurposing something mundane for the game. I sometimes recommend using the White Pages telephone directory from a major city for a similar purpose.
I salute you, sir.

One of the guys I game with (who posts here occasionally as TNE2300) has a habit of placing bad puns in PCs names, usually by using alternate spellings of common words.
The ones that stick in my mind are a druid named Evyr Griin, and merchant named Bilo Selhi
