Who here uses their own home made calendar for their games? How did you come up with names for the months, or did you just use the standard earth based one? Do you populate the month with phases of the moon? Holy days for each religion? Festivals?
Do you keep each month to the same # of days, or have then somewhat like earth's is, where some have 31, some 30, some less (or more)?

Re: Calendars
I always keep detailed calendars. With some (such as FR), I simply use the system as published. For my own created worlds/campaigns I like to do my own calendars and months. In my current game, for example, the first month of spring is called "Frostbreak".
I try to keep a standard 7 day week, 30 day month to keep it relate-able, but I really hate having to download blank calendars and then there's always that week where in the middle of the week the month changes. I've been wanting to switch (and will for my next campaign) to a 360 day year, 30 day month, 6 day week, 5 week month schedule. So much easier to track time!
I usually mark the full and new moons (and assume the cycles each day between), and note special holidays and holy days, etc.
