Speaking of humorous names, I once played a samurai called Jeiku Burusu. He looked a lot like John Belushi.
And a friend of mine had a character called "Dixie Normas" (say it out loud).
If you are looking for names, a good source is the Everchanging Book of Names. It's a shareware utility that generates random names.
It includes a variety of "Chapters," each chapter containing the parameters/rules of construction for names in a given society/setting/culture. A wide variety of chapters are available for a number of real-world settings like ancient Rome, medieval Britain, Northern Europe, Africa, and China; for various nations in Greyhawk; Elven names from Middle Earth, etc.
It's free, and although the interface is a bit clunky, it's well worth looking into.
