Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh (This is the Game Thread)

Desolate and abandoned, the evil alchemist’s mansion stands alone on the cliff, looking out towards the sea. Mysterious lights and ghostly hauntings have kept away the people of Saltmarsh, despite rumours of a fabulous forgotten treasure. What is its sinister secret?

After their futile search for secret doors, Kim goes back into the room with the table and beds to watch if anyone comes through the secret door.

The room is 20ft long, 10ft wide, the walls are made of formed stones piled one on top of each other, giving rise to show this room was constructed, it could almost be a hallway to somewhere, only it stops in a dead end.

Many of the Skeletons appeared to be collecting at the far right corner, indeed scrape marks are visible along the walls in that location.

As shown on the map.

Searos looks over at Brax as she mentions the weapons aren't usual and his gaze lingers a few moments too long as she pulls her dress up. He then looks down at the broadsword at his feet and picks it up looking it over.

"Not your normal weapons, you say..."

Gunter chuckles at Searos' 'fighter' comment.

"Aye, they fell easy this time, but next time it could be an ogre or three. I don't suspect we'd likely see you going to-to-toe with one of those brutes would we?"

Noticing the scratches on the far wall he goes over to inspect...

Lifting the Broadsword Searos is utterly amazed how amazing the weapon looks, it has to be magical, or at least enchanted, why a Skeleton had such a weapon is beyond him, in fact the whole pile of blades appear to be a magical horde of some kind.

(Searos makes an Apprasial check, 1d20=20 Fail, utterly)

The marks appear to be 'finger scratches' on the wall, like someone fought to escape, the room.

The other room seems strangely quiet, the door stays untouched.

Amon goes to examine the marks on the wall.

(OOC: How does a broad sword look enchanted? Does it glow? Hum with power? Have the word "magical" engraved on it? :P )

Kim moves into the room, keeping the back against the study wall, getting into the open area near the fireplace. The hand rest on the dagger, ready to draw. Is there anything to pin the unease on, what exactly makes the quietness so strange?

Searos gawps at the blade in his hand and looks at the others picking them all up in turn and holding them all in his arms. He appears beside himself with glee.

"Guys! Check out these weapons! I'm no sorceror or magic user or demon concubine or whatever it is the rest of you are but I SWEAR these are magical. They've got runes on them! Check it out, right here, here and here, they're runes! And they're GLOWING! Gods above, these things must be worth a fortune! They're amazing. Oh come on and look at them and tell what I already know in my heart and my soul. Tell me these things are worth more than this entire stupid fish village."

He looks down at the weapons again practically tearing up with joy at what he holds in his arms.

"I can retire with these weapons! I can sell one and start my own guild or just buy a vineyard or something! Oh I will never want again... no more hunting rats in the street for me, oh no sir!"

The marks appear to be quite old, but as he presses them with his finger the wall feels... less solid, like the wall might not actually be there.

Brax frowns, "If you say so Master Searos.." She pulls herself to a standing position and moves towards the wall next to Amon, her skirt somewhat shorter now. "What is it?"

The silence isn't all that strange, but it seems a little weird that no one has come in, considering what the room is used for...

Amon attempts to push through the wall, wondering if it might be an illusion.

Amons hand slips straight through the wall, inside is very very cold..

Echo looks at Searos for a moment with a shake of her head. "Yes, the thief would know better than the mages if those weapons are magical or not," she says dryly.

Kim walks over to the secret door, careful not to open it, presses an ear to it and tries to listen.

(no idea what chance a non-rogue has at hearing noise, but nevertheless...)
