WotL OOC Thread II

This 2E Dragonlance game is set in the city of Haven, during the War of the Lance. Haven is a city undergoing great upheaval. First massive numbers of refugees pour in, then the city is conquered by a draconic army. Can our heroes survive under this dark occupation?

Well, Haaque needs mercs, doesn't he? You might want to try the High Hand... just saying.

That's true, as well. And he has a (forged) document letting him and any mercenaries he hires to carry weapons.

That would be kind of funny. You'd be mercenaries hired by Haahqae, who is a mercenary hired by Magnus, who is a mercenary hired by the church to take care of the Belzorites. Mercenaries all the way down. It's the Inception of mercenary work.

I'm not cannon fodder, I'm fabulous.

Now, into all seriousness, where does everyone stay in terms of Inns?

Haahqae stays at the Steel Tankard.

Kendra, Gregeddin, Arulia and Tulbas all have homes in the city. They all live in the merchant district, except Aruila who lives in the harbor district.

Grubnick, Felran and Ne-Chanz all stay at the High Hand.

Well Haahqae would probably say Gregeddin's house, but do we want to keep Gregeddin out of it for now?

Perhaps we should suggest that we meet at the Steel Tankard or at some sort of landmark far enough away from the target that we don't all fall to Tulbas's fate one by one?

Actually, at this point I'm starting to wonder if mgbevan is coming back. He said he'd return in September, and now September is nearing its end.

The Steel Tankard works, though. Or the Happee Ohgr if you want to be closer to the hideout.

Church>>Magnus>>Gregeddin>>Grubnick>>... Felran/Ne-Chaz?
You are staying at Grubnick's inn...
Probably a pretty good chance he'll see/notice/hire you... as long as you pass the interview process... which is probably not too stringent at this point....

Btw, Jaded: if I was moving to sweet-@$$ Sweden, t3h int3rn3t5 would be the last thing on my 'to do' list...
I know what you mean, though. I'll do my best to keep the goblin from dragging Gregeddin into things. I'll maybe just throw a heal or two his way and let him rest... he's had a rough day with trying to keep the elf and gnome alive and all.

At this point, it probably looks like I'm jerking djhyland around. But honestly, just bad luck. I rolled up both Osred and Querida when they were each introduced, and not only did they get some pretty negative traits (bigoted, elitist, etc.) but both got 19's on their reaction adjustments.

Lol. At least they weren't invis castle crits, they'd have killed her on sight! Right after the gnomish knight-slayer crashes into the temple wall... [that's right, I read up on your TPK after Grubnick's close-encounter ;) ]

Looking for confirmation that I actually allow PC deaths to happen? (So far, I'm the only DM at Planet that ever has.)

We've had two PC deaths in this game so far. And ask Horizon, I've killed off about half a dozen of her characters over the years.

Anyway, yeah, the end of Three Relics was ridiculous. I couldn't stop rolling those 20s. I sometimes am highly skeptical of the so called 'randomness' of Invisible Castle rolls. Good times.

Well the IC site author does state that the rolls are not 'truly random' but that's neither here nor there ;) as long as everyone uses them, they all have the same chances :D

As far as being the only DM around to kill off players... that may change soon... :D. I'm sending an ecclectic group to Ravenloft soon, and I;ve never had many qualms about 'dropping the axe' when necessary

[Spyguy, chese, you two didn't hear that, k?]

Eh, don't worry about it, JadedDM. The way I see it, the discrimination against Arulia is part and parcel of her backstory. Also, getting a job that works well with the point of the game probably requires something like adventuring rather than working at a smithy. But hey, Arulia's original plan for the day was, uh, cut short and she needs something to do anyway. And I'm enjoying the roleplaying even if Arulia isn't!
