CH 3: Pulp Adventure!

"Aye, of course I do," the captain says. "Last time we were here, we were ambushed by savage humans. They came out of nowhere, they did, firing arrows from all directions. Twelve of my people went missing--probably dead now. You couldn't pay me enough to go back to that damned place."

[Jenara]

"Then I understand. Although I wonder how they will treat us.?" she ponders, giving him a motion of her hand she boards the boat, taking up the oars if required.

[JadedDM]

"I wouldn't want to get in the way of your training," Noah says to Jocelyn. "Besides, I'm sure you can take care of yourself just fine." He waves as the boat is lowered into the water after everyone has boarded.

It doesn't take long to row to the shore. With the exception of Ouragana and Jocelyn, everyone can see just fine in the pre-dawn darkness.

Up ahead is a dark and rather ominous looking jungle. It is not at all quiet, though. There is the buzzing of insects, the calls of exotic birds and the occasional chattering of monkeys and other critters.

[Jenara]

Departing the boat first she jumps off, "Could you help me pull it ashore?" she asks Val, steadying the boat as the others jump off. "We should look for cover."

[Nuke]

After their stealthy approach to the island, Val slides into the water and helps drag the boat ashore. "Over here, it be easier to hide, we can add some branches and cover it."

After retrieving her gear and making sure the boat is empty, she cuts a few branches to cover the boat a bit

"We must be careful. Eventually we will be watched."

Once the boat was ashore, Jocelyn jumped out and looked around in the darkness. "Those of you that can see, I would suggest you start looking around," she said as she went about trying to hide the boat with the others.

Ouragana helps to secure the boat after gathering her gear. Not being able to see much, she instead concentrates on what she can hear or smell.

[Nuke]

"Now that we are on shore, hopefully unseen, we can wait for sunrise before moving out." With that, Val stops to take a drink of water before stringing her bow.

[Jenara]

Using her elven sight Arei scans the area for a place to say undercover.

[xelphyn]

Dahn attempts to vanish into the shadows, keeping watch over the others.

[Jenara]

"Stay close." Arei grasps the Gnomes shoulder, "Watch them." she adds, releasing him.

[HorizonsDream]

"So how far are these ruins from here?" Jocelyn asked the Kohen.

[JadedDM]

"I'm not entirely sure," Dalaim says, stroking his beard. "But the island itself is quite small, no more than a few miles across. So it cannot be too far."

[Nuke]

Val sit and waits a bit for more light, heat sight doesn't see sticks that well.

"Head for high ground, I will take the rear guard."

Slinging her trident over her pack, she carries her bow, and waits until the humans can see.
