Sorry, folks - just had two rough weeks at work and two art projects at home at the same time. No time for much else.
Finished the artwork in time for the Saturday deadline. The work work continues.

I just saw something in the game thread which I am unsure whether to attribute to a genuine misunderstanding or a bit of masterful roleplaying, but either way I find it amusing.

Callan used the slang/idiom: "Knock yourself out..." Hedra replied that she would not be foolish enough to exhaust herself.

Clearly Hedra took the statement literally - but a word-for-word translation of the phrase does not exactly convey the intended meaning, although it comes close. In American slang, "Knock yourself out" means: "Go ahead and do it if you want to. I don't care."

What I am not sure of is whether Briella took the statement literally and responded in kind, or whether Briella knew what was meant but had Hedra take the phrase literally.

Either way, it put a smile on my face.

Idiomatic expression are seldom used in print, and so I'm a little behind the times there. But I love to learn. And yes, it could happen that I took a phrase literally for the fun of roleplaying.
