On hearing Mira's words '...someone you care about here, hold them close, it's a rare thing...', Jerry snuggles Merrick a little closer, pressing her torso flush with his and just let's out a gentle, contented sigh.

(ooc: lets assume she repeated her words in common, normally she'll speak in Harmonian when performing here

Cal sits next to Cross, trying very hard not to look at Elsa.

{OOC: thx Tristen. On thinking about it, Jerry had asked him to 'dual language' their conversation so that she can start to pick up the language (aka fill her vacant language slot)}

[OOC: I may not have mentioned this, or at least not for a while, but it would require someone fully fluent to teach you a language with regard to filling the nwp slot. Merrick is not fluent. His harmonian language check is similar to Mira’s; around 70%. To fill an NWP slot you would need a teacher proficient 90%, but a native speaker would be better. Merrick will translate as he is able, but just remember his translations are not always perfect. For the songs, Mira has been getting help from the locals to translate them completely so they are considered technically accurate.]

Couples return to the small area to dance near where Jerry and Merrick still sway gently. She asks him to translate the words and he does so as well as he is able; speaking softly so as not to disturb the other dancers. His arms envelop her shoulders and he holds her close. Elsa and Pyros reach the area, hand in hand, and begin to dance as well. The Halfling carries a feint blush on her cheeks next to her winning smile. Cross tears into the desserts with Cal sitting nearby, trying hard not to watch Elsa head to the dance floor with the Kender.

Serath continues his conversation with Artanis, Power might be the wrong word for it, but they certainly do have abilities that set them apart… It is said that many gypsy women can see things others cannot. This is supposedly how they are able to see the future… If that is true, then perhaps they simply avoid danger. They are also rumored to be able to vanish into the mist itself… I have not made a study of them, but perhaps your friend Mira can speak more completely about it. I am sure that she is not one of the Visitani herself, but she does seem to have spent some time with them at least…

Standing she watches the crowd for a few moments, grinning at Elsa with a wink she balances her lute on her knee, "I hope you like this one."

"So I'm back to the velvet underground
Back to the floor that I love
To a room with some lace and paper flowers
Back to the gypsy that I was, to the gypsy that I was

And it all comes down to you, well, you know that it does
Well, lightning strikes, maybe once, maybe twice
Ah, and it lights up the night
And you see your gypsy, you see your gypsy

To the gypsy that remains faces freedom with a little fear
I have no fear, I have only love
And if I was a child and the child was enough
Enough for me to love, enough to love

She is dancing away from me now
She was just a wish, she was just a wish
And a memory is all that is left for you now
You see your gypsy, you see your gypsy

Lightning strikes, maybe once, maybe twice
And it all comes down to you and it all comes down to you
Lightning strikes, maybe once, maybe twice
And it all comes down to you

I still see your bright eyes, bright eyes
And it all comes down to you
I still see your bright eyes, bright eyes
And it all comes down to you

I still see your bright eyes, bright eyes
(She was just a wish, she was just a wish)
And it all comes down to you
Lightning strikes, maybe once, maybe twice
And it all comes down to you."

The song is slow, the notes subdued, her face looks thoughtful.

Artanis nods as he takes in Serath's comments. He observes Jerry getting quite close to Merrick and the ranger cannot help but wonder if she is actually a Silk Whisper of Sune. Or a courtesan. The ranger leans back in his chair and tries his best to relax. Not like fishing relaxing but relaxing none the less. His mind wanders to places near and places far - as he wonders where all of this will lead to in the end.

Pyros isn't 100% how to dance to the slower music, but he gives it his best to not do the funky chicken, and sway to the music.

The party eases into the evening, a little time, fellowship, warmth and food putting distance between them and the dire events of the last few hours. The nights here are heavy but, for now at least, they are safe within walls. Senne takes a seat near Cal and eats, smiling at him and asking him things in harmonian; probably something about the food. The half-elven couple dancing sway softly to the music, enjoying the warmth of another. The small folk dance, a little more lively than others, but close and content. The elven man, content with a full belly and a book; the dagger at his side watching the 'new world' excitedly... Two half-elven men, very dissimilar otherwise, sat together at a table enjoying the music. Away in the kitchen the Gnome watched with heavy heart as the one he admired danced with another... Atop the stage and singing soulfully, the woman with every eye upon her... and perhaps, tonight at least, loneliest of all...

[Ooc: aside from the music, is there anything else anyone wanted to accomplish before the end of the day/scene?]
