Making charcoal is the trade of the collier. It takes a lot of skill to make the large heaps of split logs, cover them with earth to make a mound that is then ignited to slowly turn the wood into charcoal in a smoldering process that takes about a week to ten days. Making charcoal was the main reason Germany's hills were mostly denuded at the beginning of the 19th century... before mining technology had progressed enough to explore the deep veins (thousands of feet below the surface) of the fossil coal beds.

Liriodendra wants nothing special, she only needs to fill up her gear: Darts mostly, but also food and if any of her clothing has suffered or the climate is different, replacement/repair for that.

Arrows, food, maybe better boots and cloth if Galanis's are worn out. And a cute girl too.

Angel would need some more arrows, trail rations and perhaps a spare short sword?

I was out of touch yesterday, because I had to travel out of state for my cousin's wake.
Mickey was diagnosed with liver cancer three years ago, and was told that he had about 90 days to live. He proved the doctors wrong by living far longer than that - he turned 90 days into 1,155 days. He spent the time in between treatments traveling the world with his wife and making memories. He was 58 years old.

I'm glad he had time to enjoy his family and travel, far beyond what was predicted for him. Many others don't. Sometimes people live much more fully in a short time than many of us do in a much longer. I lost one of my first cousins to breast cancer a few years ago. Her daughter looks just like her at that age...

I've had a terminal cancer diagnosis in my family these days, too. I'll not elaborate right now, because not all of the family know about it yet. I am only thankful it is not my husband, or worse, one of my children...

Thank you for your condolences, folks.
2016 has been an ugly year for deaths and medical issues for a lot of people I know, in addition to the huge number of celebrities. Let's hope 2017 is better.

Back from my Christmas travels. Let's game.

Sorry for any stupid questions I may ask in the near future. I've been living in a kind of haze the past few months. My parents-in-law both became seriously ill last fall while in the process of dismantling their furniture shop to retire. I had to step in and do it. With no training in trade, business or administration, this has been a nightmare. I was able to do other things as they were thrown at me, but my usually good memory didn't retain much of anything else that was happening.
My parents-in-law are better now, though still in need of care and attention. The house that had been in the family for 160 years is ready to be handed down to the new owners, so I can breathe again.

There is never a need to apologize for real life intruding into our hobbies.

Hands up. I'm stuck.

With the game moving quite slow I loose track of what is happening, and now. I have no clue what to do.
