Iscind

At the sound of the scream Iscind takes off like an arrow fired from her bow, her long blonde hair trailing her small lithe form. "Come brother!," she calls out behind her as she races for the inn,"Or has the ale fattened you too much to keep us with me?"

Mira turns instantly, spinning back to the inn she doesn't wait on the others as she bolts back inside.

"Down!" Karl orders, knowing the boy wouldn't understand him yet. "Are we chasing shadows?" He asks, his honor said he should get the poor woman down, and that's what he does.

"What is this foul coward of a creature we are trying to track? Has it a weakness? We need tactics and strategy! He is controlling the fight. We must form up a strong defense! We are running to and fro and we will be picked off like the weakest animals in a pack like this!" Kybalion shouts.

Airand glances into the loft but doesn't see anything at first, as soon as the scream comes he leaps down and begins running towards the inn! Mira, Jerry and Merrick rush towards the structure as well, followed closely by the Esker, Iscind, and Kybalion with Elsa and Pyros hobbling along to bring up the rear.

Elsa answers Kybalion, It's a vampire! Garlic, stakes, all that stuff. Magic and magic weapons might work too! If that weapon of your hurt a wolf-creature, then it might work!

Karl moves the ladder and begins to climb, Cross and Gregor glance back towards the inn but then move to assist. In short order they take the woman down and lay her on a cart, lightly lined with straw, like a bier. Fenrir, the massive raven, perches on a beam high above; still quite agitated. We couldn't leave you here by yourself. The white-haired elf explains, And you are right, she should not be left like that. Gregor nods, 'Taint right, what those with power do to common folk. She never hurt nobody... bastard's just using her to stir us up... He watches the open doorway into the night with his hand on his sword hilt.

The Broken Wheel (int): (Mira, Jerry, Merrick, Kybalion, Esker, Iscind, Elsa, Pyros)
Rushing back through the bloody Kitchen they see Sabrina huddled in a corner, clutching a butcher's knife and watching the swinging doorway to the rest of the Inn fearfully. Bursting through the swinging door to the commons area, the scene is likewise gruesome. The older male patron lies on his back across the bar, his legs dangling over the stools, his neck bent at an unsurvivable angle behind it. Sightless eyes stare from a mask of terror as blood still drip-drip-drips onto the floor. The bartender huddles behind the counter with a studded club, staring horrified at the body draped over his bar like some discarded mop-rag.

In the corner near where the locals had been seated before, one of the young men paws at the wall trying to stand; eyes staring unseeing. Papa...! papa, où es-tu ?! Je ne vois pas, papa... Émile...? Tu es là?? Je... je ne comprends pas ?! The fighters in the group understand that this is often what happens when the back of someone's head is slammed against a hard surface, the vision can go though it usually returns. A long bloody trail leads from the broken table to the staircase leading up to the rooms. From the sound, something is climbing the stairs, accompanied by a dull, rhythmic thump-thump-thump...

Being ever persistent. And thinking ahead.
"Well I guess I don't get to test out my new flaming bullets... Can anyone make my bullets magic?"

Jerry looks at the horrible scene but professionalism shunts her feelings aside and stomps on them into a deep down cellar and slams the doors. She eyes the butcher's knife that Sabrina's clutching just in case it, and she, are blood-splashed and a possible threat care of vampiric Charm. "Tell me exactly what happened here!" Jerry demands, testing for a glazed look indicative of a Charmed victim.

Her eyes latch onto Jerry, pure terror until she sees Mira as well. In halting Elven she answers, A... person... came in... grabbed the boy at the table. Boy's father very angry and afraid. It... throw father across the room...!? Then it... bite the boy... blood... She shudders, clutching the knife close like a talisman for protection. Brother try to stop it, but it push him away like nothing... I... I hid... She looks at the party, the overwhelming fear laced with the barest glimmer of hope that they can stop this walking nightmare.

Elsa takes a trio of sling stones from her pouch and prays a small enchantment over them. Here, Pyros. Use these. You can throw them or use your sling.

Pyros grabs the stones, unlimbering his hoopak, and heads up the stairs.
"Over his shoulder, Don't worry! We got this!"
He forgets to look if anyone is following him.

Kybalion takes in the scene and is dumbstruck that something is moving this fast and doing this much damage in such a short period of time. He sees the halfling bag of holding take some stones and walk towards where the stairs are. He falls in behind him understanding magic is afoot in this place and he seems to know a good deal more than himself.

Mira enters the room, rushing to Sabrina first, damnit she would be safe.. safe what did that mean anyway?

"Ssshhh, it's ok. I won't leave you again. I swear." She kisses the girls forehead. "Jerry, go. Deal with it. I'll try and deal with this." She waves her arms, looking to the fallen figure.

"Toi, méchant fils de serpent ! Pourquoi ? Juste pourquoi ?!" She screams up the stairs.

-----

'Thank you. Truly. You are honourable men." Karl.gives a half smile. "This is chaos, I have seen enough, and yet this is greater, we will need to leave when this is done."
