The Brink [of Madness] Act 1, Scene 1

A classic 2e Puzzle dungeon for High Level characters
Beware, this one is substantially longer and (IMHO) even harder than the legendary Tomb of Horrors!

"The green serpent ring sounds like it needs to go with one of us back into the cave. It might be a key of some sort. The other items might be better suited for the fighters. Nothing would scare a wizard more than a fighter sucking in spells and at a charging at a bookworm to its ultimate demise." Axid remarks matter of factly.

"I agree, these would be great for Landro, as long as he can fit them. Also they will likely soil themselves when he walks up beside them invisble."

(OOC: Not sure about the timelines, I think Ke'Sha is playing yesterday, but I don't post since I think he is not there with when you do the identify, but I wonder if the invisibility rings will work on the zombie trolls. If so it would be great.)

While in camp, Axid will practice his locksmithing and exercising his mind. He ponders too the need for elaborate dancing and gesturing along with the assortment of components needed to cast magic. He thanks his deity for granting him the power to affect the world around him with his mind.

Is this after the re-exploration foray?
I'm sorry I've lost track of what is going on in this one.

I think Stephen's mostly recovering after making a dimension blade gem (the lesser version, with the chance of weapon shattering).

As I recall, Ke'Sha will want to rest and recover spells all day on the 5th of reaping, with us venturing into the Labyrinth again on the morning of the 6th.

Stephen plans on empowering a better dimension blade gem on the 5th, discussing it with Landro that evening, and being ready to go the next morning.

Regarding the magic items, the human-sized chainmail+2 is useless to us. It probably goes into the party cache to trade for favors at a later day. I think we're giving Landro the ioun stone of spell absorption and the Rings of Invisibility (since they only fit him)? While invisible troll zombies would be useful, I don't think they have the intelligence required to actually use the rings.

Who wants to carry the jade serpent ring? The same person carrying the scepter? Who is that, incidentally?

correct, the troll zombies cannot use the rings.

Anyone who wants to can carry the scepter. I don't think anyone has claimed it yet really so we can just say Allikhain has it.

What about casting reduce on the rings? Will it work? We have several spell casters, and there are spells that increases spells duration...

sure, Reduce could be used to make one of the rings small enough for someone to wear for the duration of the Reduce spell. Once that wears off any effect would end

Axid will stroll the vendors looking for colognes, perfumes, essential oils, fragrant salves, fresh flowers or anything to mask the decaying swamp ass stench that the undead create.

Axid finds a few selling soaps and various hygenic compounds. one such has delicate oils and seems to be trying new concoctions with the exotic local fauna.

[If we're good I'll go ahead and close this in a day or two and start a new thread for the next game day]

Axis will purchase some hygienic compounds along with some standard oils. Exotic stuffs he will leave to the more adventurous. (OoC I'm good with a new day).

Jag will partake in group meals but be quiet otherwise.

Jack will work with Stephen to create a working set of hand signals for when they are scouting. In case the mental link fails somehow.
