Vic looses a Firebolt at 11 or 14, whoever looks the most damaged.

Fire Bolt: Hit, DMG [1d20+5] = 9+5 = 14 [1d10] = 6

Round 4

Vic called out "Hopefully those others don't think they sneaking around this building..." and then sidesteps into the town square. His bolt of fire streaks between Val and the cart to burst on the nearest orc’s thigh. [#11, 6 fire]

Val swings again, grunting, "Eat steel you ugly orc!" and smacks the orc with the smouldering thigh in the jaw. [#11, 13 slash] The recently healthy orc drops, never to rise again.

An arrow shatters the shoulder of orc facing Unbar [#15, 10 pierce] and scant heartbeats later Xolkin finishes the job. [#15, 5 pierce, 6 pierce, 4 pierce] Isaril’s answers from above, “I watch!”

A harsh cry resounds from the field. Its meaning is plain to any that speak orcish, “Kill them” Kill them all!”

Unbar advances to the remaining orc attacking Xolkin and buries his warhammer in the creature’s face. [#14, crit!, 11 crush] The badger continues to prowl below Isaril. It makes low-pitched growls.

The transparent spear leaps forwards and thrusts at Xolkin but the half-elf sways out of the way. Umbar hears a chanting from the direction on the field. [Unbar: Arcana check DC11 to recognise]

Before anyone can gain any respite, orcs attack! From the field north of the stable, two of the reamining four advance to hack at Xolkin [X16, AC25, crit!, 23 slash] and Unbar. [#17, AC22, 9 slash] Xolkin collapses.

Val move up 5 feet and uses his 10 foot reach to attack #16. After that he will move behind Unbar so the Orcs can't get advantage on him or Unbar.

Round 5

Vic moves out into the town square until he sees the one-eyed orc and hurls a packet of coruscating entropic energy. It strikes the one-eyed orc in the side. The booming noise nearly drowns out Vic’s words, "Maybe this will draw them out."

Val closes to slice the nearest orc. [#16] Dark blood gushes from the glaive wound as the goliath moves up behind Unbar. Meanwhile, Isaril manoeuvres quietly to cover the approach from the rear of the stable and Xolkin’s breathing becomes more even.

It seems Vic’s plan works as the muscly, chain-mailed orc [#G] comes into view and lobs a pair of javelins at him. [Vic: AC25, 11 pierce & AC22, 15 pierce] The snarling brute unslings a wicked looking greataxe and slashes at the only foe withing reach, unconscious: Xolkin! [#G, AC26, crit!] It screams:
orcish.png

Just as things look bleak for Xolkin Unbar puts away his warhammer, wriggles his fingers a bit and reaches down to rest his hand on Xolkin's neck. [Cure Wounds: +5HP] The battered half-elf's eyes open wide and he gasps, struggling to get his bearings. While this drama plays out, the generally unnoticed badger scurried round towards the rear corner of the farmhouse.

The one-eyed orc [#N] emerges from behind the stable, fingers wriggling, and presses one hand to its side. The wound closes and the creature's breathing becomes easier. [Cure Wounds: +10HP] It points and makes a stabbing motion with one hand. The transparent spear moves to threaten Vic and tries to impale him. [#N, AC10, 5 force]

The other two orcs [#16, #17] glance at their hulking leader [#G], one nodding vigorously, before both slash at Xolkin. [#16, AC25 crit!, Xolkin is dying] [#17, AC22, autocrit! Xolkin has two failed death saving throws]

Round 5 action
Xolkin drops in front of Unbar so Unbar casts cure wounds on him.
Cure Wounds(2): [1d8+2] = 3+2 = 5
if you don't want to retcon that Chris, Unbar will take a swing at the orc that downed Xolkin (#16)
Warhammer To Hit(5): [1d20+5] = 7+5 = 12 , Damage(3): [1d8+3] = 4+3 = 7

Round 6 action
Casting Heat metal on the chain-mailed orc [#G] that downed Vic. Targeting the chain mail itself.
Heat Metal: [2d8] = 7
If a creature is holding or wearing the object and takes the damage from it, the creature must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or drop the object if it can. If it doesn't drop the object, it has disadvantage on Attack Rolls and Ability Checks until the start of your next turn

Val attacks 16:

[1d20+5] = 19+5 = 24
That's a Critical hit:
Damage: [1d10] = 5[1d10+3] = 2+3 = 5 =10 damage

After that Val will move his full movement toward Vic.

"Isaril, Vic needs your help."

The imediate reply to Val's call is the twang and whoosh of an arrow that punches a hole in the chain mail covering the orc leader's chest. [#G: AC21, 12 pierce]
Isaril replies in elven, then repeats in the common trade tongue, "I hear you."

Round 6

Vic’s body tremors as it begins to fail. [Two failed death saving throws] Val, aware of the situation, takes a mighty swing at the middle orc, [#16] cleaving it in two before hurrying across to intercept One-Eye before it can take Vic’s head. Val sees that the unpleasant creature has over a dozen wrinkled, shrunken heads hanging from its belt. The tiny, stuffed heads all have an eye gouged out. Most of the heads were once elven. The goliath’s voice booms out as he moves, “Isaril, Vic needs your help.”

The immediate reply to Val's call is the twang and whoosh of an arrow that punches a hole in the chain mail covering the orc leader's chest. [#G: AC21, 12 pierce] Isaril replies in elven, then repeats in the common trade tongue, "I hear you." The wood elf scampers across the roof then focuses on Vic. [Vic: Healing Word, +6HP] Sliding down the slope of the roof Isaril falls, legs tucked, into a forward roll to end on his feet moving towards the orc leader. [#G] Bow in hand the elf hollers something that sounds harsh, angry and aggressive.
orcish1.png
orcish1.png (3.24 KiB) Viewed 4969 times
In front of the barn Xolkin’s body makes another valiant attempt at life [Xolkin: death saving throw success!] which is quickly shattered as the burly orc leader [#G] buries its greataxe in Xolkin’s chest, twisting it to open up the ribcage. [#G, AC25, autotocrit! Xolkin dies] Wrenching the axe free, the brute advances on Unbar and tried to end the sturdy dwarf. [#G, AC23, 15 slash] It rasps in barely recognisable common, “HAAR! STRUMPY!”

The damaged dwarf hitches his Warhammer onto his belt, clutches his holy symbol, wriggles three fingers up towards the clouds and then points at the orc leader whose chainmail starts to steam. [#G: Heat Metal, 7 fire] The big orc growls while the badger dashes to catch up with Isaril.

In the village square One-Eye, [#N] fingers wriggling, utters a word and touches its leg. [#N, CW, +6HP] No longer limping, the shaman sidesteps round Val and makes a slashing motion at Vic. [#N, AC5, miss] The transparent spear stabs down, impaling the ground a yard from Vic.

The remaining orc takes a hefty swing at Unbar but buries its greataxe in the barn door. [#17, fumble, DC14 Athletics to disengage the axe from the door] It braces one green-skinned foot against the barn door and heaves on the axe's handle but the greataxe remains lodged in the planking.

Since Isaril is on his way to save Vic Val will attack N (one eye).

Attack:[1d20+5] = 20+5 = 25
That's a crit:
Damage:[2d10+3] = 20+3 = 23

If the orc is down Val will move behind 17 to give Unbar advantage.
