Mom's home, and out of the woods as far as the situation that put her in the hospital in the first place, but while in there she hurt her arm/shoulder (imagine that: go to the hospital, get injured) so she's having trouble doing simple everyday things, like getting out of bed or reaching for things. Nothing's ever simple.

Glad to hear she was released, sorry about the complications. At least being in the comfort of her own home with her family around is much better than being in a sterile hospital.

I've heard some awe full stories about hospitals... Anyway, I hope she will be back in full health in short time.

Thankfully, yes. She's only about four or five miles away.
My brother is even closer, though. He's about 3/4 mile away, and my sister is nearby as well.

So you can share the care, that's good.
My nightmare would be to have to seriously take care of my parents before the summer of '17. They live a five-hour-drive away, so I would need to live there. And I would loathe to have to do that now that my youngest prepares for his Abitur (High school diploma) due next year. My husband's often away for weeks, making machines run again somewhere in the world.
My sister lives more close to them, but she has small children and a husband who works shifts at the oddest hours (no first responder, but a chemical plant that needs 24/7 attention justthe same).

Is there the same animosity between dwarves and elves in this world as there is in Middle Earth?

Not really. The two races do not mix much, but that is more a matter of geography than anything else.

Hiric is just defensive of his sister.
Egg is just a Merc.

Delay of game penalty - five yards.
I did have to go out and get some opinions on a ruling before going forward. Ready....go.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that at least Liri's Elven community kept mostly to themselves, and she is one of very few who have joined an Imperial Service. Is that true for every Elven community? If it was, both she and Tanulan would probably be intrigued finding someone of their race in an official Imperial position.

Speaking of position, Liri had been on home leave when she joined the group. I guess the timespan for that is about to elapse or has already elapsed, what would she need to to to avoid disciplinary consequences?

There are some elven communities within the empire which keep to themselves, but there are also elves living in the big cities, fully integrated into imperial society.
And although elves tend to live in specific neighborhoods in many cities (not a requirement, but a preference) in the biggest cities, like the capital, the neighborhoods are fairly mixed.

What is unusual is to see an elf holding such a high rank, and commanding human troops.

Technically, Liri is probably AWOL at this point. It is unlikely that anyone here would be interested in that, so she'll have no trouble with these troops. And now that she is among active-duty legionnaires, I suppose she could send an official message to her superiors explaining the situation and requesting instructions.
