No sounds of distressed poultry come from below
Re: Return [To Madness]: Act 1, Scene 2
Axid turns from the chaos at hand to look at bubbles and chickens then back to the halfling's long winded story that he is affronted. There is some truth in Ke$ha speaks but an iron fist in a velvet glove can hold danger. Axid for them moment stays his hand.
You are talkin' to the holy symbol wearing,

Re: Return [To Madness]: Act 1, Scene 2
Allikhain turns her attention to the mysterious portal and the new filmy blood-bubble between the massive scaled hands. Well... it seems your 'scout' has yet to indicate 'fowl play'. She says to Jag dryly, the barest hint of a twitch visible at the corner of her mouth.
Re: Return [To Madness]: Act 1, Scene 2
Ke'Sha observes the situation and since nothing advances he coughs, "Would you agree that I'll send Alrius to test the safety of the bubble for a more human like creatures?"

Were we reassured about a true cost of the bargain with the demon?

Re: Return [To Madness]: Act 1, Scene 2
“Okay, Master Ke'Sha, I realize you may be new to the whole ‘team’ thing, but being part of a team means telling us what you’re going to do before doing it, not springing things on us as a surprise.”
Stephen gets a thoughtful expression. “Did your specter get the tattoo? How does that work for something without a physical body?” He shakes his head briefly. “Never mind. Not important. What I meant to ask is if your specter can pass the barrier over the ‘hole’ without going through the ‘blood bubble.’”
“Jack, can you see the chicken? Did you watch it exit the 'blood bubble'? What actually happened to it?”

"Lost sight of it because of the angle. I did not hear anything untoward."
Jag picks up on the pun."Witty." He thoughtfully chuckles as he backs away from the bubble now that testing seems underway.

Re: Return [To Madness]: Act 1, Scene 2
Ke'Sha is confused at the remark since he did try to consult with the team just now, but he holds back and say, "In a moment I will be able to share it's senses." He then growls some ancient unnerving words, tear off an eyelash, and press it to Alrius forehead for a moment. The area glows and the eyelash crumbles to dust.
Once the simple ritual is done, Ke'Sha speaks: "Landro, can you cut the giant hand again to form another bubble?" as the bubble forms Ke'Sha commands Alrius to step inside it carefully.
==================================================
(OOC: Casts spectral senses. Holds for 17h.)

Re: Return [To Madness]: Act 1, Scene 2
Ke'Sha begins his encantation, forming a link with Alrius. He draws forth his black hood as part of the spell.
=======
There is another bubble ready. A second one formed automatically after the first.
Time is: 12:10 PM Day 3
Ke'Sha casts Spectral Senses on Alrius
Whenever he draws the black hood over his face he can see and hear through Alrius, and give him simple commands mentally
Expires 5:10 AM Day 4

Ke'Sha looks at the members of the company through Alrius eyes as he walks past them. The juju walks slowly but not ungracefully as his lesser undead kin. He commands Alrius to test the bubble by touching it first and then just walk through it.

Re: Return [To Madness]: Act 1, Scene 2
Ke'Sha drapes the dark hood over his face, plunging himself into a lightless space. Soon the image of the world through Alrius' undead senses comes to his mind's eye. Alrius moves forward as mentally commanded and reaches for the bubble. The instant his finger makes contact with it, the bubble bows out engulfing him completely! Slowly he begins to descend, as the chicken-scout before him, through a cylindrical shaft.
Darkness engulfs Alrius for several seconds, until he emerges into a wide square room, 70 feet on a side. An eerie green light burns from brazers in the corner, and behind him the legs of a massive statue stand; the rest of the figure disappearing above the knees into a void of what must be magical darkness...
The area is utterly silent, and four strange statues of green crystal stand motionless along the walls... Suddenly the Crystaline golem-like creatures move, rushing forward to extend their arms towards Alrius! An eerie green glow emanates from each their palms, but whatever the purpose is, it seems to have no effect on him...
=====
It is unclear exactly how far down Alrius is due to the darkness. If one assumes a constant rate of descent, he is probably between 40 and 100 feet down
Blue squares are 5 feet

Re: Return [To Madness]: Act 1, Scene 2
Ke'Sha grits his teeth preparing to absorb the blow... but nothing happens. "Well, the bubble is safe enough. At least for Alrius kind, but there are four golems made of some kind of crystal who tried to attack him to no avail. There is some magical darkness on the way down, difficult to gauge the depth, but maybe something of seventieth feet, and there are also giant legs... either a statue or another more massive golem.. the rest is hidden in the darkness. Be prepared for a fight!" He tells the others and sends forth Nidrith and Thallena. "In the meanwhile I can instruct Alrius to try and communicate with them, although they seem thick headed, or attack them if you think it will serve better. Ahh... and I didn't see the chicken, but I also didn't see it's body... so I hope it lives still." He looks at the party waiting for some teamwise feedback.
============================================================
(OOC: If Alrius keeps avoiding damage, then for now (this turn) Ke'Sha will only guide him to show no aggression and move slowly to inspect the room and the big legs from some distance.
BTW, can Ke'Sha share what Alrius sees via Stephen mind contact?
Also, if Stephen can see it, can he creates a portal there? Behind the crystal golems? Maybe surprise them while they are busy with the undead?
)

Re: Return [To Madness]: Act 1, Scene 2
[OOC] The power description for mindlink says it allows wordless communication regardless of language. I don't see anything that says it can or cannot send images or sounds. I'll do some more research, but for now let's leave that part out until I find further established information. Torath, you seem to have a lot of psionics background, do you know of a published source that clarifies this? [/ooc]

Re: Return [To Madness]: Act 1, Scene 2
[OoC]To me, wordless implies images, memories, and feelings. I'm unaware of anything official that clarifies more than that. For what it's worth, we've already had people send images Stephen's way.
He can open a portal to any place he has seen, or any place he can reference - say, 20 yards directly below the 'hands'.
And none of the green light is visible from the top of the 'pit'?[/OoC]
=============================================================
“Master Axid, I think we may have a use for your talents. Master Ke'Sha says his minion has encountered golem-like critters. If I open a portal, can you channel your will into through it and into the golems?”
Stephen focuses his thoughts on the halfling. <How tall are these golems?>

Re: Return [To Madness]: Act 1, Scene 2
[Ooc] I'll say a still image is possible, but I want to be careful of scope creep between this and other abilities like "Sight Link", which is more like seeing through another's eyes, or "Sound Link" hearing what another hears.
Correct, no green light is visible above. the magical darkness reaches upward to an extent it cuts off light traveling up the shaft. In addition, to look straight down the shaft one would have to touch/enter the blood bubble, or find some way to get directly above the bubble without touching.
I'm also not entirely convinced one can see clearly through the dimensional door ability. It says people pass through an alternate dimension and describe it as 'a vaguely outlined portal. And while objects can be thrown or fired through as well, it gives no indication I can find that there is clear view. My inclination is that at best it would be like attacking into darkness or invisible creatures, which the -4 penalty to hit seems to support. For many abilities one needs to be able to see the target. What specific ability is he asking Axid about? If it doesn't require seeing the target it may be doable. If it requires contact that needs to be established first.
I'll see if there is any clarification in the errata or other official sources
