Re: CH 4: Solanthus
Galenye moves forward, scooping up Targin's fallen bow.
Erastin, who was once blind but could not see, moves in close and slashes at the ogre's side with his family's ancestral blade. Targin swings again, too, but the ogre steps aside, avoiding it.
Moving around the snoozing female, Jinali engages the male from the other side. But the ogre's thick hide deflects her staff's strike.
The ogre swings at Karathos, but doesn't even manage to clip his horns. The minotaur returns the favor, though. The first axe misses, but Heartcleaver lives up to its name and sinks deep in the ogre's chest, breaking through its rib cage and finding the ogre's oversized heart.
The ogre sways, while spraying its blood on all who stand near it, before toppling over, its rage--and breath--spent.

Re: CH 4: Solanthus
"Thank you my friend." Erastin bows to Karathos, falling to his feet clutching his side in agony trying to stem the bleeding appearing through his armor. "What. What do we do with the other one?" He asks looking at the group.
Re: CH 4: Solanthus
"Tie her, so she can't hurt us. I do not want to kill her while she is defenceless. She might be seen as a monster, but so am I by many in this lands. And we definitely need to take care of each other's wounds." Karathos grimaces, holding his stomach. "Jinali, can you help Erastin to walk back to the mounts? Hopefully Selowen can tell us how to care for these wounds." When they pass Galeyne, he will ask her to tie up the female ogre with Targin's help.
(OOC: You are right about this module being unbalanced. If the ogre had hit Karathos, the minotaur would be dead and not the ogre. A lot is left to chance. And when Karathos hits, he kills.)

Re: CH 4: Solanthus
"Good, you're bad damaged." Jinali offers Erastin her arm "Oh guys, why haden't you kill the orgre a little faster... I would still have my shield spell!"
I am NOT sweet!
Re: CH 4: Solanthus
"Yes those Gnomes really packed a punch, just wish I knew why they were fighting us! The reaction when I said I was an knight aspirant, what was it they said? I think I caught that they wanted to stop me, stop all the Knights." He manages to stand, but does not move. "Yes tie her up, we can talk to her, ask questions."
Re: CH 4: Solanthus
While the party ties up the ogress with Karathos' rope, Selowen approaches and starts to check their wounds. "Those gnomes got in some lucky shots," she comments. "What strange weaponry they wielded."
She applies a poultice to the puncture wound on Erastin's left side, and bandages it up. The pain dulls a bit almost at once. Likewise, she does what she can to bandage up the battered minotaur, but her herbs and poultices have little affect on the strange, gnomish injuries.
===========
Selowen performs a Healing check on Erastin (1d20): 9, pass. She heals (1d3): 3 HP.
Selowen performs a Healing check on Karathos (1d20): 16, fail.

Re: CH 4: Solanthus
"Thank you, Selowen" Karathos says and tries to move, but winces in pain. "This is strange stuff they have been using. I must go easy now. No riding on my shoulders now, Jinali, I'm afraid" he tries to joke.
He then moves around a little, checking the trees and bushes, maybe there are some vines that could be used to tie up the ogress, to free the precious silk rope?

Re: CH 4: Solanthus
Any vines that the minotaur might find in this climate and terrain would be far too flimsy to possibly hold an ogre, as he quickly discovers during his search.
The ogress begins to come to at this point, groggily trying to figure out what just happened, why her hands and feet are tied, and where her mate is.

Sleep spell ends.

Re: CH 4: Solanthus
"Thank you Selowen." He smiles, "And your offer Jinali, I appreciate it." Facing the Ogre with his blade drawn he levels the weapon at the Ogre. "Tell me who sent you, why did you attack us?" He asks aggressively, fighting the pain in his side.
Re: CH 4: Solanthus
The ogress struggles against her bonds, and looks at Erastin hatefully. "What happen? Where mate?" she demands, unable to turn around and see her dead mate. "Mate and me, looking for things to smash. Hear loudy bang-bang noises. Go see, find new stuff to smash."
Re: CH 4: Solanthus
"Your Mate is no longer a threat." He scoffs, these were just stupid monsters, how they managed to find there way to Solomina he would never know. "I am afraid you picked the wrong thing to smash." Stepping back he adds, "She has nothing to tell us."
(Actually, how such a thing got into the land is a mystery! Bandits are unlikely, Ogres, even less so)

Re: CH 4: Solanthus
Galenye hands Targin's bow back to him as she watches Erastin question the ogres. "Really, I am more curious about those gnomes than I am about that ogre," she says with a sigh. "Too bad they ran away."
Re: CH 4: Solanthus
"I agree, I wondered if they were together, obviously they are not." He shrugs. "I hate to say it, but." He levels his blade.
Re: CH 4: Solanthus
"Perhaps next time you will use you brain Erastin. Walking into this whole situation was foolish. Lucky for us no one ended up dead."
He walks over to the struggling ogre and watches, barely able to hold back his contempt.
"I suppose you will want to release her too?"

Re: CH 4: Solanthus
"Maybe we can use her as a bait, leave her here, perhaps the gnomes will come and have a look, and we can capture and question one of them?" Karathos suggests.
