Heading through the door across from them, they found themselves going through another thirty foot corridor.

This one opened up into a room about the same size as the last one. Jerrard's glowing robes reveal that the room is covered from floor to ceiling with hieroglyphics, not an inch unmarred by ancient text. Dominating the room are two columns rising from the ground to meet the rough ceiling 20-feet above. These columns have been carved like totem poles on all sides, with the likeness of dog, jackal, cat, and bird faced humanoids. The eyes of each of the carvings are large sparkling jewels of various hues. There are two other exits beyond the one they arrived in, closed with stone doors.

"I can't say pretty, but it sure is different." Locky says as she scans the room, taking in all of the detail. "I wonder..." She ponders, her eyes fixing on the gems, why would someone leave something so pretty here? A thief might come along and borrow it... She should return them to the rightful owners. Stepping closer she halts herself, no she was better than that.

"Magic, and now religion, yes of course it would take one as powerful to create such undead." He gives Locky a warning glance as she moves closer, "Those gems are not for taking, although I wonder if there is some power in them? Removing some might affect something."

He moves aside, tapping Ulster on the shoulder, "We should let Babuskha look for tracks, or some signs of passage. Then we take a closer look. Locky do these carvings look familiar? Signs of the gods?"

Realising the group was looking at her she continues. "Well look there is Dugan the dog, and the others, I am suprised you don't know them..? See my great Uncle Oklahoma told me..."

Babushka walks around carefully, checking for signs of passage. "I can't see anything, but that doesn't mean much with these stony floors" she tells the others.

When Babushka steps between the two pillars, her eyes planted on the ground trying to find tracks, she hears the telltale snap of the Fungus Staff stiffening. On instinct, she ducks as two scimitar blades pass over her head, held by a pair of men in white robes that were hiding behind the pillars. Looking up in their eyes, she realizes these are no men--they are draconians; the same Baaz Janissaries that helped capture the princess!

As this happens, daggers begin raining down on Jerrard from above. A pair of Baaz had apparently climbed to the top of the columns and were now clinging there, whipping daggers down on the brightly glowing wizard. Two of them pierce his armor spell, cutting into his flesh. The other two are blocked by the aforementioned spell or Jerrard's bracers.

Looking up quickly Jerrard pulls a sleep spell from his mind, aiming it at the creatures at the tops of the columns.

1d10, 2d4=[8], [2, 2]

Init 8+1 = 9, 4HD put to sleep.

(Unless they get a better init than him)

Rounding the column Locky comes up behind Baaz two, letting two stones fly as she does so.

"Not so fast, glowmage!" one of the Baaz on the columns shouts, tossing another dagger his way. The dagger slices into the wizard's right shoulder, causing him incredible pain and disrupting the sleep spell he was casting.

"Yeah!" shouts his partner, and attempted to toss another dagger, but then lost his grip on the column. He tumbles to the ground, knocking the wind out of him momentarily.

"Fool, get behind me!" Thuskar growls, grabbing the wizard and pushing him behind him. Thuskar then holds up his blade to protect himself. The Baaz still up on the column flings another dagger, which Thuskar deflects. The one on the ground picks himself up and tosses one, as well, but Thuskar blocks that one, as well.

Meanwhile, when Babushka turned to face one Baaz, the other sliced into her back with his scimitar. Ignoring the pain, she strikes at the Baaz in front of her, smacking him across the snout with the purple fungal weapon. The Baaz counters with his blade, but the gnome ducks again as it passes over her head.

"Watch out!" Ulster shouts out in warning to Babushka as he comes up behind the Baaz she is fighting. However, this serves to warn the Baaz more than Babushka, and he evades the warrior's attack. Locky gets behind the other Baaz and slings a pair of stones toward him, negating her invisibility instantly.

Quickly nocking an arrow, Imani aimed upward and took a slow, deliberate breath. The arrow flew upward, catching the Baaz in the thigh. Repeating the process, the second time she nails the baaz in the shoulder. He nearly lets go of the column, but manages to cling on anyway.
