Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh (This is the Game Thread)

Desolate and abandoned, the evil alchemist’s mansion stands alone on the cliff, looking out towards the sea. Mysterious lights and ghostly hauntings have kept away the people of Saltmarsh, despite rumours of a fabulous forgotten treasure. What is its sinister secret?

Forum rules
AD&D 2nd Edition.
PHB and Complete Books are Acceptable.
Mages Can use the Spell compendium.

4d6, drop lowest arrange to taste.
One +1 Weapon/Armor, 1 Misc Item.

Daily posts are preferred, if you are gone for over a week with no explanation your PC will be NPC'ed :)

"Sounds like the next best option," Echo says with a shrug as she follows after Kim. She doesn't look for anything magical, but she does try to notice anything out of the ordinary in the old house.

Stepping back into the Wine Cellar, the three mages note that nothing appears to have been disturbed. As they walk through the ruined larder and kitchen they spy the staircase, untouched as before, the light slowly fades leaving Amon in Darkness.

Echo and Kim clearly see the body, without her armor, again untouched, the numerous wine bottles and other items remain also..

Dogmeat wanders the walls, growling quietly, he barks at the body, then bears his teeth at the back wall.

Kim's head turns. "Amon? Do you think Dogmeat has noticed something?"

With these words, Kim walks over to the dog, slowly, so as not to irritate the animal.

"Aha! look at this" She says to Brax showing her the bundle.
"That says to me: here are some others! And maybe they had something hidden in there..."
and Vee trys to open it.

Gunter, standing at the top of the steps, raises his voice so the others upstairs can hear him, "Everything okay in there?? The mages are checking out the wine cellar downstairs again."

Echo/Searos/Vee & Gunter.

The Clothes look expensive, even to Vee's eyes, the silks fall through her hands softly, Searos can tell even from where he is standing they are high quality.

"Interesting." Brax mutters, turning back towards Gunter, "We have found signs we do not appear to be alone...." She lets that thought hang there for a few seconds. "I would suggest you follow, we will be ok, the worst we might find is a spider or too."

Kim/Echo/Amon

Kim wanders the walls, looking carefully to see what she can, she searches the walls carefully, yet finds nothing.

Dogmeat however continues to bark, reacting to something, something unseen maybe, all Amon can hear is the barking, he can make out shapes, yet in the poor lighting he is all but blind.

(Assume) Echo stands near the steps, observing the cellar, the body, 1d6=3 looking she finds nothing out of the ordinary.

Suddenly, without notice, the world sinks into blackness, even Kim and Echo find their Elven vision is gone, leaving them helpless in the darkness.

Echo frowns as the world is plunged into darkness. This is not something she is use to at all considering her elven sight tends to work in her favor. The fact it isn't working seems to unnerve her. She readies a few darts though, ready to throw them into the darkness if need be.

Kim stands still and draws out the dagger from the belt, trying to picture clearly where everyone and everything was.

"Gunter! Come here! We're in trouble!" The shout is as loud as a hoarse voice can manage, and a little higher in pitch than you'd expect.
