Pyros will see the wolves closing on Mira. He will yell like a mad man trying to get their attention. On his way to interposing himself between the bard and wolves he will pull out both his daggers.

Nearly falling to her knees from the blow Mira staggers and barely holds her ground.
"Curse you damn wolves, this isn't fun anymore." She sighs, using a Cantrip to call on the sounds of dogs barking from behind her.

Artanis knows that Mira is injured badly, but feels the best course of action is to get rid of the enemy and then try using curative magics on her. He is going to continue attacking WE3 and says to Mira: "Try going up that rescue rope - live to fight another day." The ranger lunges at the creature, and with his magical longsword he finally strikes the creature, although it is just a glancing blow. He is still not used to using the longer weapon in his off hand, and after tagging the creature with his magical weapon, he's a bit off balance with the extraction and misses the creature badly with his silvered weapon.

Re: Act 1, Scene 2: "Taking Care of Business" (Game Thread)
[OOC: Ok, It has been 3 days. Pressing on…]
The badly injured wolf facing Mira withdraws southward, turning and breaking into a limping trot when he is far enough from the melee. Cross hurls Gar at the Alpha again. The blade narrowly misses, but it distracts the wolf enough that Elsa is able to recover her mace. Thanks whoever that wasl! she calls back to the casters. Unfortunately the Alpha begins to attack the much smaller Halfling with a vengeance! Artanis steps in to take some pressure off, calling out to Mira: "Try going up that rescue rope - live to fight another day." The ranger lunges at the creature, and with his magical longsword he finally strikes the creature, although it is just a glancing blow. He is still not used to using the longer weapon in his off hand, and after tagging the creature with his magical weapon, he's a bit off balance with the extraction and misses the creature badly with his silvered weapon.
Mira frantically works up a cantrip to simulate dogs barking behind her, but the newly returned wolf charges her! It is anyone’s guess if she will finish the spell before being torn limb from limb! Suddenly, with a maniacal scream the Kender charges; letting his hoopak fall to the ground behind the group and drawing a pair of daggers! He makes it just in time, meeting the massive wolf just before it attacks the bard! The first slash forces the wolf to back off a little, while the second catches it across the jaw. The beast turns its attention to the relatively diminutive creature that assaulted it, snapping and chomping but to no avail! The nimble Kender easily evades the wolf. Watch out, Pyros! You’re insane! Elsa calls to him over the din of battle. Another sling bullet comes flying in from the direction of the inn, but misses by a fair margin.
Cal weaves another illusion, and another knight resembling the first appears behind the party, walking up to aid their efforts! Suddenly another figure becomes apparent in the moonlight from the direction of the wayfarer! It is difficult to tell in the relative dark, but a cleric of some kind! At least, the figure is wearing robes and wielding a morningstar as she begins to trot towards the group. She is still some distance away (50 yards) but should be able to close into melee very soon! The Alpha strikes again at Elsa, grabbing and thrashing her about ferociously! Her pained cries echo in the night, along with the crash of her shield on the ground as the beast smashes her into the cobbles over and over! She miraculously breaks free and manages to desperately crawl backwards to a few feet away from the beast with the Ranger there to cover her retreat. Her formerly white robes are almost completely crimson now and she is only able to stand by using the mace itself as a cane. She pants and winces in pain, Just need… ow! One minute… catch my… breath… She feebly reaches to fish out her holy symbol but her shield-arm seems to be uncooperative.
The Alpha withdraws a few feet and takes stock of the situation, noting the newly arrived figure behind and the illusory knight. Seeing the fallen and trapped pack strewn about and the fact that none of the humanoids have been brought down. Three sharp barks at the other wolf and the pair withdraw from the melee and prepare to flee.
[Combat Ends???]
[Like a Yorkie attacking a mastiff
Timing is everything. All these simultaneous actions are making the melee much more interesting for me to write

Seeing the wolves depart, Jerry abandons her offensive spell's components and sprints the rest of the way to the group to assist with healing, calling out in Common, "Who needs healing?"
She pops off as many Cure Light Wounds as are required (3 max).

Re: Act 1, Scene 2: "Taking Care of Business" (Game Thread)
[OOC: it looks like Kerap is moving this week so I won’t anticipate him posting. He is, of course, welcome to do so if he does find himself able to.]
Pyros screams at the Alpha and hurls a dagger at the retreating canine. It slips from his hand and strikes the pavement hard with a metallic clang, hopefully it isn’t broken. Cross silently follows suit and throws Gar, but his own toss is wide and sails far over and beyond his target. The retreating wolves quickly run southwards and disappear into the fog-shrouded night. Mira begins to bind Elsa’s wounds, and the Halfling returns in kind. Her expert ministrations already begin to make the bard feel a little better.
As the stranger draws nearer the party can now see more detail. She appears to be a young but stern looking blond woman of perhaps 20 summers or more. She has nice features that would likely make her pretty if she ever smiled… which seems doubtful given her current countenance. She wears plain blue robes with white trim (almost the inverse of Elsa’s own clerical garb color-wise) and bears a Morningstar. She quickly offers healing to the group.
Jerry spots a badly wounded redheaded woman, who is most likely the bard she has been asking about. The Halfling the lady is tending is covered in blood-red robes with black trim… or perhaps they were once white judging by the way the small-folk is moving. Another redhead, a half-elven male, is wiping down a pair of longswords; one of which glimmers oddly along the edge of the blade as if it were made of moonlight. A white haired elf nearby in the robes of a mage speaks a sharp command and the dagger he threw flies through the air under its own power back to his outstretched hand! She cannot be certain, but a glimmer of moonlight suggests that his eyes bear the same color as the locals… perhaps he was from this Sithicus she heard of… The elf-child that threw a pair of daggers collects the one nearby and checks it. He is oddly animated and does not appear to have been wounded.
Nearby, the captured wolf still struggles in the overgrown grass and vines. We need to be careful! Artanis, how much longer will those vines hold? The half-elven ranger regards the captured wolf as he cleans his blades and limps over to the women, I lost track of time during the fight, not more than a couple of minutes I should think. We need to get out of the open.
From the wayfarer a loud, obviously magically amplified, voice calls out Mira? Is that you? Hurry before they come back! The others in the group easily recognize Merrick’s voice.
[Chris: please identify which you want to start the healing with, it would take 3 minutes to cast 3 healing spells and time may be of importance. Your first one can happen during this round as soon as I know the target. Elsa the Halfling seems to be wounded the worst, Mira the human bard second worst. Artanis the half-elven ranger is also badly hurt, and Cross the Elven mage has only a small wound. Pyros the Kender (elf-child. Call him that, he loves it
) is completely unscratched and Cal the Gnome is still invisible.]

Re: Act 1, Scene 2: "Taking Care of Business" (Game Thread)
"New, yes, name's 'Jerry'," Jerry replies, not yet knowing who she's speaking to, and then casts Cure Light Wounds on Elsa.
After casting the spell, Jerry says in Common, "We can get into the tavern this way," as she heads towards the rope.
Assuming there will be a queue while the party climb the rope, she'll cast a second CLW on Mira. "I see why the performance was late," she teases, delivered with a cheesy smile.
If there's an offer to go up the rope after that, i.e. not last, Jerry will take it as she's not great at climbing and a wolf would possibly put her metaphorically in the ground in one bite.

Assuming there will be a queue while the party climb the rope, she'll cast a second CLW on Mira. "I see why the performance was late," she teases, delivered with a cheesy smile.

Re: Act 1, Scene 2: "Taking Care of Business" (Game Thread)
Artanis suggests that the group, starting with the most severely wounded, make their way to the "Way of Escape" that has been provided. He'll cover the retreat and also wave off any healing attempts as he can do that himself.
